Student answer (Band 5.0)

The worker should have more days off while the working week should be smaller.

I completely agree with that statement because the working week should be shorter lile three days will be off from Friday to Sunday. Because worker don't have enough time to spend with their family and couldn't have time to do theri own work. They should have to work for four days and then have three days of longer weeked.Which they can go outside with their family members and friends and can finish their work and can do some rest by which they can feel comfortable and relax and also pay attention on theri work.

Moreover, Some people are live for away from their homes and cannot go back theri homes for many months, so when they have long weekend they should have to go at theri homes. For example I know the person who can work in the other city and theri family like parents and wife and also childrens live far away, he cannot come back atleast 3,4 months because he haven't days off from work so he will be face alots of problem. Theri family also face issue they cannot manage without him.

In my opinion worker should have more days off because they can go everywhere and live life line normal people by this theri health will not be effect and they will be mently strong.

To conclude that, working week should be smaller and worker have more days off from working days.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing that the working week should be shorter. Main ideas are introduced, such as spending time with family, resting, and accommodating migrant workers, meeting the basic requirements of Task Achievement. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and limited. For instance, the discussion on family time and relaxation is reiterated multiple times without adding new dimensions or deeper analysis. The example provided about a migrant worker is personal and relevant, but it lacks broader societal context. Because the ideas are presented with some repetition and under-development, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5, it satisfies the criteria for addressing the task partially with a clear stance, but lacks the fully extended support characteristic of Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a recognizable overall progression, starting with an introduction, body paragraphs with arguments and an example, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and repetitive. The student relies heavily on simple connectors like 'Because', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude that', and sometimes connects clauses awkwardly without appropriate punctuation or conjunctions, such as 'Which they can go outside' and 'By which they can feel comfortable'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is hindered by run-on sentences and repetitive phrasing. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the pronoun usage in the migrant worker example. These features align with Band 5, where organisation is present, but cohesive devices are inaccurate and mechanical.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary to express basic ideas related to work, family, and free time, such as 'family members', 'friends', and 'rest'. However, there are frequent word choice errors, inappropriate collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'lile' instead of 'like', 'theri' instead of 'their', 'weeked' instead of 'weekend', 'mently' instead of 'mentally', and 'effect' instead of 'affect'. Phrases like 'live life line normal people' and 'alots of problem' further demonstrate restricted control over lexical features. These noticeable errors and limited vocabulary choices restrict the score to Band 5, as the errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentences, but these attempts are frequently faulty. The essay contains numerous grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people are live'), article misuse, tense inconsistencies, and heavy run-on sentence structures joined by commas rather than proper conjunctions or full stops (e.g., 'They should have to work for four days and then have three days of longer weeked.Which they can go outside...'). Punctuation is generally weak, and complex structures lack accurate control. Because the frequency of errors is high and structural control is limited, the grammar profile fits Band 5, where frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader.
