Student answer (Band 6.0)
The shorter working week bring happiness to the face of every employee/worker. As they will get more time to spend with their families, and children will get a chance to go for a long weekend picnics and tours.
People might get very relaxed and happy with this routine but the load of the work will increase with shortening the working week. As the work of those days should must be done in the other working days which will require workers to work more in the rst days and they might need to do overtime.
The routines of schools, colleges, and universities would be disrupted as students will feel it harder to go back to schools after 3 or more holidays. As of now the system is set and everything is going with the flow. But as soon as you change the routineof people, they will get lazy and it will get hard for them to work and even work with more load, focus, and might need to do overtime.
So, after discussing all these scenarios I am able to disagree with this opinion of shortening the week, because it will disrupt the all routines and flow of the system. No doubts, people will be able to relax and enjoy in their leisure. As well, they would be havig more time in which they can do any social activity of their life or with their families or friends. But, it will overload them, it would result in overburdening them and causing mess to their mental health. And simply a human mind is unable to focus for that long and do sch load of work in that shorter period. So, the ongoing routines of 1 or 2 offs a week is the best routine in my opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the task by clearly stating a position against shortening the working week and providing supporting arguments. You successfully cover both sides initially, acknowledging the benefits such as happiness and family time ('As they will get more time to spend with their families'), before pivoting to your main argument regarding workload and mental health. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive, particularly the points about workload and employees having to work harder in fewer days. The position is maintained throughout the essay, but further extension and refinement of the specific economic or psychological impacts would elevate the response. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for a Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance presented in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, though the body paragraphs are somewhat dense and could be broken down further to separate distinct ideas like routine disruption and mental health. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'So, after discussing all these scenarios', but some transitions are a bit mechanical or used incorrectly as sentence starters (e.g., 'As of now', 'As well'). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally stumbles due to punctuation errors and run-on structures. Progression is discernible, resulting in a solid Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas about work routines and employee well-being. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary and phrases, such as 'disrupted', 'overburdening', and 'leisure'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'bring happiness to the face' instead of 'brings', 'doing sch load of work', and 'having more time in which they can do any social activity'. Spelling and morphological inaccuracies ('havig', 'rst days') also occur, though they rarely impede overall communication, placing this securely at a Band 5.5 to 6 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting conditional or multi-clause structures like 'As the work of those days should must be done in the other working days which will require workers...'. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. There are several severe errors, including modal verb doubling ('should must be done'), fragments starting with 'As' and 'And', and subject-verb agreement issues ('The shorter working week bring'). Punctuation is also problematic, with comma splices and run-on sentences ('No doubts, people will be able to relax and enjoy in their leisure. As well, they would be havig more time...'). These frequent errors restrict the score to Band 5.
