Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some indiviuals think working week should be shorter but some others constract that and think they should have a longer weekend so they earn more for their life.

From my prospective, I'm totally satisfied that the working week should have to be shorter then having a longer weekends. In my city, most of the people came from the the rural areas to earn the money for there families and they lived in city for a long time and did'nt see there parents and the sibilings they used to see them all the day and spend most of the time with them, They worked in a hotels, resturatnts, hospitals, private campanies where there is not enough time to even complete there sleep because of the hardens of the work given to them by the companies.

I also remembered when i was cleard my boards exams, I went to the private company and selected there as a fresher. On the begining i was very exited to gain experience and also earn the money for my personal expenses, but by the passage of the time, I went the there an half hour behore the actual time. It was a night shift and after some weeks, I was noticed that I'm not taking much sleep that my body needs for refreshment, and also that I'm not spending time with my family, siblings and also with friends. All becacuse of the burden that the campanies handover their employers.

From my observation, Governemt of the country should focused on this problem solved it by restriction apply on all the working industries so the eorkers that worked in there avail the opportunity of shorter hours of working and should have extanted weekend so that the public came from onother city should go there hometown and spend much of there time with family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favour of shorter working weeks and a longer weekend. Ideas are presented and supported with personal and observational examples, such as mentioning people coming from rural areas to work in hotels or private companies. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and tends to wander into generalised anecdotes rather than fully exploring broader economic or social arguments. Furthermore, there is a slight misinterpretation or confusion in the opening sentence where the student writes 'some others constract that and think they should have a longer weekend so they earn more', which contradicts the prompt's premise. Because the position is somewhat unclear at the start and ideas are limited in their academic extension, this corresponds to a Band 5.5 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, which visually resembles standard essay structure. However, the internal cohesion and logical progression are frequently hindered by long, run-on sentences and poor cohesive devices. For instance, sentences are heavily strung together with commas and coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'so' without appropriate subordination or punctuation. There is a lack of clear signposting between paragraphs, and referencing is sometimes confusing, such as 'went the there an half hour behore'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall progression of argument is disjointed. This level of organisation aligns with a Band 5.0 rating.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic vocabulary such as 'earn the money', 'private company', 'spend time', and 'family'. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'indiviuals' for individuals, 'constract' for contrast/contradict, 'prospective' for perspective, 'sibilings' for siblings, 'resturatnts' for restaurants, 'campanies' for companies, 'exited' for excited, 'behore' for before, and 'Governemt' for government. These errors are noticeable and occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in tense usage, article selection, subject-verb agreement, and prepositional phrases (e.g., 'when i was cleard my boards exams', 'most of the people came from the the rural areas', 'burden that the campanies handover their employers'). Punctuation is largely neglected, resulting in massive run-on sentences connected exclusively by commas. Complex structures, when attempted, are frequently faulty and obscure meaning, placing this performance firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
