Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, employing someone in your organization is just like hiring a labour on the construction sites. This is because of the work pressure that organization gives which is way more than the salary they pay to them. Someone having a family along with job is struggling alot with this situation.

This debate can be resolved with the evaluation of someone's hardwork. As today, the working week comprises of 6 days in some organization's rules and some write 5 days as their working days in their rules. So doing evaluation of work of individuals working in a firm will lead to a change.

For example, if one employ is working hard all the 6 days in his first week of work we can judge him as a hardworking person. So he must be provided with shorter working week benefit but the firm ensure that he is doing good in his job along with that. On the other hand, if the person, who is hired by a firm, is just working by staying in comfort zone then he must be objected with longer working week.

The fact is that when a person is hired by an organization he gives his best to it. So the firm must check that is he getting in return something from the organization instead of just get little sum of money. That is not even paying off his hard work towards his organization. This thing will gain the trust of emplOys. So the institutes must provide their hard working emplyos with longer weekends after every two weeks. This will help in lowering the pressrure and burden of work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the working week should be shortened, leaning towards supporting flexible or shorter working arrangements based on hard work. However, the position is somewhat unclear and oscillates in development. The ideas regarding evaluating employee hard work to determine weekend length are present, but they remain under-developed and lack clear logical extension. For example, the argument that hardworking individuals should be granted shorter working weeks after every two weeks is introduced abruptly without considering practical implementation or fully answering whether the standard working week itself should change globally. Consequently, the task response aligns best with Band 5, as the ideas are limited and the position lacks consistent clarity throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at structural organisation. However, the overall progression is weak. The transition between ideas feels disjointed, and referencing is frequently unclear, such as the pronoun use in phrases like 'instead of just get little sum of money' and 'This thing will gain the trust of emplOys'. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, leading to a mechanical and sometimes confusing flow of information. While paragraphs are used, the internal cohesion and logical links between sentences need significant improvement to guide the reader smoothly. Therefore, a Band 5 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses a limited and repetitive vocabulary that is barely adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices throughout the text, such as 'employ' used as a noun ('if one employ is working hard'), 'emplyos' (employees), and 'pressrure' (pressure). Words are frequently misused in collocation and form, for example, 'must be objected with longer working week' or 'employing someone in your organization is just like hiring a labour'. These errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical range to a Band 5 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, with heavy reliance on simple sentences and basic complex forms. Attempts at complex sentences often result in grammatical errors, such as 'the person, who is hired by a firm, is just working by staying in comfort zone then he must be objected with longer working week.' Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('organization gives', 'organization's rules'), articles, and prepositions are evident. Punctuation and spelling errors also persist ('emplOys', 'emplyos', 'pressrure'). These errors frequently cause strain and difficulty for the reader, fitting the descriptors for Band 5.
