Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of a shorter working week, but the position taken is confusing and contradictory. In the introduction, the writer states 'I am partilally agree with this view because country condition are not well inflation increased after day by day,' yet the conclusion claims 'longer week work is more valueable.' Furthermore, the text is significantly under-length at 221 words, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement, which directly impacts task completion. Ideas are underdeveloped and lack clear, logical support. For these reasons, the response corresponds to Band 4.0 descriptors for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response is divided into paragraphs, but the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by broken syntax and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand,' which do not logically frame the ensuing points about remote work and inflation. Referencing is often unclear, leaving the reader to guess the connections between sentences, particularly in the body paragraphs where ideas shift rapidly from economic conditions to travel and then to COVID-19. This level of organisation aligns with Band 4.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate. Examples such as 'country condition are not well inflation increased after day by day' and 'corncern gernrate inceme' demonstrate severe limitations in word choice and spelling. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, but these attempts usually result in inappropriate collocations or severe errors that strain the reader's comprehension. Consequently, the lexical resource is restricted, fitting the Band 4.0 profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatically, the response displays a very limited range of structures. Simple sentences are frequently constructed with missing verbs, incorrect prepositions, and fragmented clauses (e.g., 'How to fulfill these expenses shorter working week and longer weekend'). Complex structures are rarely attempted, and when they are, they contain pervasive errors that frequently distort the meaning of the sentences. Punctuation is also neglected, with run-on sentences and misplaced periods. This performance sits firmly at Band 4.0.
