Student answer (Band 5.0)
In present there is very much demand of workers in country because the work load is more and workers are less. At many working place they have longer weekend so the worker can not face work load but there is one disadvantage, the worker will get half salary because of longer weekend.
On further discussion that is if the worker will stress free then they will fresh at working hours and do work without any load so they can give there best. The workers also have one type of advantage that they can complete their personal work during long weekend and can also spent some time with their family and if some time with valid reason they will not go for working then they can complete their work from home on weekend.
Moving ahed with discussion, if the working week should shorter and workers have longer weekend so they will get their salary as per their working hours and their working hours are less so they will get less salary and can not full fill their needs. They can also be lazy on weekends and not going at work place. After doing this type of work they always be lazy and every time they do less work and then ask for holiday they always do less work so they can not do more work or if work load then also can not handle it.
In conclusion I will disagree with working week should be shorter and workers should have longer week end because the worker will have less work habit so if they can work longer and have shorter weekend then it will ok. They have to make habit of more work then also they will get more salary

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response presents a clear position disagreeing with the prompt, arguing that a shorter working week could lead to lower salaries and reduced work habits. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding reduced salaries is mentioned multiple times, and points about workers becoming lazy lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. While the writer addresses all parts of the task, the ideas tend to be generalized and under-developed, placing this response firmly in Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organized into four paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow at times due to weak logical links and awkward transition phrases such as 'Moving ahed with discussion'. Cohesive devices are often repetitive, inaccurate, or missing, leading to choppy sentences that make the argument harder to track. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks clarity, particularly in the body sections where thoughts run together without clear signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing words like 'work', 'worker', 'weekend', and 'salary'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'In present' instead of 'At present', 'work load is more' instead of 'workload is heavier', and 'stress free'. These lexical shortcomings and frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'ahed', 'full fill') restrict the range of vocabulary, making the response minimally adequate for this task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or awkwardly linked compound structures with frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'workers can not face work load', 'they can give there best', 'not going at work place'). Attempts at complex sentences are generally faulty, resulting in run-on sentences and punctuation errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning.
