Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people have argued that working week should be shorter for workers and weekend should be a little long for them.
From my perspective, this shouldn't be happen because for workers normally Sunday is enough. While those who use to work for longer time should get a little longer weekend as they in order to get rest according to their potential. working week according to the worker's potential should be balanced and they should get enough time for their families and beloved .
Secondly, a shorter working week could improve productivity. When employees are overworked, they may become tired and less focused, which can lead to mistakes and lower-quality work. In contrast, well-rested employees may be able to concentrate better and complete important tasks more efficiently. Some companies that have experimented with four-day working weeks have reported positive results in employee satisfaction and productivity. This suggests that working longer does not necessarily mean producing more.
However, reducing the working week may not be practical for every industry. Hospitals, restaurants, transport services, and other businesses that need to operate continuously would still require sufficient staff. In such cases, employers could introduce rotating shifts or flexible schedules so that workers receive longer periods of rest without reducing essential services.
In conclusion, I agree that the working week should generally be shorter and that employees should have a longer weekend. Although some industries may need alternative arrangements, giving workers more time to rest can improve their well-being and potentially make them more productive at work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout the response. In the introduction, the writer leans towards agreeing with the proposition, and this is reinforced in the conclusion. However, the first body paragraph contains some contradictory and slightly confusing ideas, such as stating 'this shouldn't be happen because for workers normally Sunday is enough,' which partially conflicts with the final stance. Despite this minor confusion in the opening arguments, the later paragraphs present well-developed, relevant ideas regarding productivity and industry practicalities. The arguments are extended with examples such as companies experimenting with four-day working weeks. Therefore, the response successfully fulfills the task requirements, earning a band 6.0 according to the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response is arranged coherently with clear overall paragraphing, including an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Secondly,' 'In contrast,' 'However,' and 'In conclusion.' However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, particularly in the confusing opening body paragraph where pronoun reference ('this shouldn't be happen') and sentence flow are unclear. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but the logical progression between the first and second body paragraphs suffers slightly from inconsistent positioning. These issues place the response firmly at a band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'productivity,' 'overworked,' 'continuously,' and 'flexible schedules.' There are, however, some noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'use to work' instead of 'used to work' or 'work long hours,' and 'beloved' used as a noun instead of 'loved ones.' Furthermore, phrasing like 'a little long for them' is overly colloquial. The vocabulary used is sufficient to communicate the main points, but errors in word formation and collocation prevent a higher score, matching the band 6.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'When employees are overworked, they may become tired...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward structures, particularly in the opening section, such as 'this shouldn't be happen' and 'while those who use to work for longer time should get a little longer weekend as they in order to get rest.' Punctuation and article usage are occasionally shaky, though complex structures are attempted. While these errors are noticeable and cause some momentary difficulty, they do not entirely impede communication, which justifies a band 5.5.
