Student answer (Band 4.0)

Discussion about working week have long been ongoing among people must be short rime work as it has many pros and cons. In the weekened worker doing the works by peacefully they deserve the long holidays in the last weekened. Beause lack of burden on it.

On the other hand work nothing is more invigorating that an excursion in the natural sight and sounds on this time must needed some relaxion and happy calm of heart and peace of mind.

Worker played a important role in the society they are doing any work and they didn,t refuse any work.

For example,However in the vinicity of my hometown they are cppious houseing societies with modern amanities they played roled to build i see many of the town are build but some still are developing and they working continously and i dont see most of the people crude behaviour and they didnt not doing good things with them. i saw there is in restaurants workers serve a variety of delicious foods i rarely eat out once in a blue moon they showed kindeness.

Compare to the free peoples who traveled with family memebers and friends by eating out and they spent time together and change a taste as well. workers who find hardworking fols as they try to work out a good life for themselves and children as well they such a honest and simpe individuals they doing his work carefully. After a hardweek at the end they deserve a longer weekened. They should be calm of heart and piece of mind i believes everyone should experience life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend, but the development of ideas is severely hampered by poor expression and a lack of clear argumentation. The writer attempts to present a position ('must be short rime work as it has many pros and cons' and 'they deserve a longer weekened'), but the stance remains inconsistent and difficult to follow. Many arguments are tangential or confusingly linked, such as the lengthy anecdotal descriptions of housing societies, restaurant workers, and people eating out, which fail to directly support a cohesive thesis on shortening the work week. While the length requirement of 250 words is met, the ideas are limited and insufficiently extended. According to the band descriptors, this performance aligns closely with Band 4, where the task is addressed only minimally and ideas are undeveloped.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The logical organization of the essay is extremely weak, preventing any clear progression of ideas. Paragraphing is haphazard, grouping unrelated thoughts together (for example, mixing remarks on nature excursions with statements on the societal roles of workers). Cohesive devices are either missing, misused, or confusing, such as the abrupt transition 'For example,However in the vinicity...'. Paragraph transitions do not guide the reader smoothly through the argument, and referencing is frequently unclear. The overall structure fails to present a coherent arrangement of information, making the text very difficult to read. This corresponds to Band 4, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently and progression is lacking.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The lexical resource is basic, repetitive, and heavily flawed. The student uses a very limited vocabulary and demonstrates severe issues with word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'short rime work' instead of short-time work, 'weekened' instead of weekend, 'Beause' for Because, 'vinicity' for vicinity, 'cppious' for copious, 'amanities' for amenities, 'fols' for folks, and 'simpe' for simple. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently strain the reader's comprehension. While the writer attempts some broader vocabulary like 'invigorating' and 'delicious', the overwhelming frequency of lexical inaccuracies places the response firmly at Band 4, where basic vocabulary and frequent errors impede clear communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. There is a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences almost invariably result in major structural errors, run-on sentences, or sentence fragments. Examples of severe grammatical breakdown include 'Discussion about working week have long been ongoing among people must be short rime work' and 'they didn,t refuse any work. For example,However in the vinicity of my hometown they are cppious houseing societies...'. Punctuation is faulty, verb tenses are confused, and subject-verb agreement is frequently violated. Because errors are dense and frequently distort meaning, this performance warrants a Band 4 rating.
