Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely belive that, the working week should be shorter and labour should have a longer weekend. I partially agree with this statement and provide my own knowledge and opinion on this view.

On the one hand, Employee get frustrated from daily work routine and indeed quality time to overcome from workloads. In addition to this, they are aslo unable to expend time with their faimly and friends. Therefor, worker should get longer weekend. For example, employee those who work in office and hardly getting short weekend they are unable to help his faimly in household work.

On the other hand, Longer weekend makes worker lazy and burdens in their potiential. Long holidays can affect in their daily routine of works and decrese the ability of pressure handling which may lead them to unwanted mental pressure. Moreover, most of the people prefer to went outside during their free times and this could be the reason why company workers get distracted from the task. For instance, When staff get some days off from the they consider to have fun and party with their loved ones and the task may get out from their mind on which they were workin.

In conclusion, On the one side, longer holiday may helps them to overcome from daily workload and employee can get oppurtunity to enjoy with their faimly members. On the other side, employee could be distracted from their purpose regarding to their works and target as well as could harm in their positon.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by presenting a partial agreement regarding whether the working week should be shorter and weekends longer. The student covers both sides of the argument, discussing the benefits of reducing stress and spending time with family, as well as the drawbacks such as potential laziness and distraction. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the example provided in the first body paragraph—"employee those who work in office and hardly getting short weekend they are unable to help his faimly in household work"—is superficial and grammatically constrained. The position is stated, but the supporting arguments tend to generalise without robust elaboration or specific real-world evidence. These limitations align closely with the Band 5 descriptor, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four standard paragraphs: introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a basic organizational structure, signaled by transitional phrases like "On the one hand," "On the other hand," and "In conclusion." However, the overall progression is hampered by repetitive phrasing and awkward logical transitions. For instance, the conclusion clumsily restates earlier points using repetitive structures ("On the one side... On the other side"). Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or inaccurate, such as "Therefor" and referencing errors like "employee those who work... they are unable to help his faimly." Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. This places the response comfortably within the Band 5 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with several instances of incorrect word choice, word formation, and spelling errors. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include "belive" instead of believed, "labour" used awkwardly for workers, "expend" instead of spend, "faimly" instead of family, "Therefor" instead of Therefore, "potiential" instead of potential, "decrese" instead of decrease, and "went" instead of go. While the student attempts some less common terms like "overcome from workloads" and "unwanted mental pressure," the noticeable spelling and word-choice errors cause frequent difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited lexical range characteristic of Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside frequent faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are persistent and glaring errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("Employee get frustrated", "worker should get"), missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and tense inconsistencies ("which they were workin"). For example, the sentence "When staff get some days off from the they consider to have fun" is broken and incomplete. These frequent errors disrupt the flow and occasionally obscure the intended meaning, placing the response at Band 4.0 for grammar.
