Student answer (Band 5.5)
The employment week should be of less days and employees should have prolonged weekend. From my perspective workers should be provided be given less number of working days and it will be result in having more days to chill.
To begin with as workers who are serving in different sectors whether a white collar job or earning on daily wages in factories, have the right to unwind from their hectic routine. As a sound mind lives in a sound body, when persons doing job for whole week are granted more days to relax it will definetly accerlate their work ability. Furthermore, it will also be beneficial for companies as workers will give more output. For instance, I was teaching in a school about six months ago when I started my job there, I often feel myself tired all the time as only one day was off from work later school policy had changed from one to 3 days off . I felt an obvoius change in my teaching habit.
Furthermore, less working days provide a chance to person to spend more time with family and friends. It has a positive effect on society, as individuals who have very busy schedule and with one ay off often go through some psychological illness. For instance, one of my cousin was working in a company and he was not free to go to have fun with friends and family ultimetly he went into depression then he left that job.Long weekend provides a chance to plan short trip with family to get ride of their hectic routine.
In a nutshell, employees should be granted long period of weekend to relax.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favour of a shorter working week and extended weekend, supporting it with relevant ideas such as health benefits, productivity, and personal life. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or rely on broad generalisations rather than deep elaboration. For instance, the transition from teachers working a six-day vs. three-day off schedule is a bit anecdotal and specific, yet it effectively illustrates the point about rest. The conclusion is brief and lacks a summary of main points, which places the response securely in Band 6. The core requirements of the task are met, and all parts of the prompt are addressed with relevant reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure ideas into paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion). However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes faulty, mechanical, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'Furthermore' to introduce new points. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion can be clunky. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences sometimes stumbles due to awkward transitions and punctuation errors. Overall, the organisation is understandable and achieves a functional flow, fitting the Band 6 descriptors where cohesion is mechanical and referencing can be erratic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas about work-life balance, but it lacks precision and range. There are several instances of awkward word choices and phrasing, such as 'employment week should be of less days', 'provided be given less number', and 'get ride of their hectic routine' (instead of get rid of). Spelling and morphological errors, such as 'definetly', 'accerlate', and 'obvoius', occur frequently. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary like 'psychological illness' and 'unwind', the lexical inaccuracies and limited flexibility restrict the score to a Band 5.5, demonstrating a minimally adequate range with noticeable errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, incorrect prepositions, and punctuation issues that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as run-on sentences and missing commas. Examples include 'when persons doing job for whole week are granted' and 'one of my cousin was working'. Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are problematic throughout the text. Although the communication of meaning is not completely obscured, the high frequency of structural and accuracy errors places the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor for grammatical range and accuracy.
