Student answer (Band 5.0)

People belive that working days should be less than weekend days. But i disagree with this, because if we decrease workinf day that greatly effect our country economy and productivity of work.

First of all, if we increase weekend that means we decrease workink weekdays, which should not be benificial for our country economy. It's definately ruins our economyrespected to the other countries. Foe example let, if we workers work three days in a week and student study, result is that slow indutriy and bad education, that not make any development. This type of change realy effect our capital as weel as eocomy, also decrease development.

Moreover, if worker work less in the whool week that specialy effect the productivity of industry. Coustumer should wait for a long time and the connectivity between them disabled. For example , if there is long week end the client wait untill the naext weekday comes. also the the production effect significantly. Istead of this other industries who work alot can approach our coustumer or client.

On the other hand, if we increase one holiday, that may not effect the factors mentioned earlier. It gives the more time for people take rest and relax their mind which is better for both perfomance and productivity. people might be work more efficiently that ever.

in Nutshell, i whould like to say that more holidays can only be effect our production and consistancy of work, apart from thar it make us demotivate with their work. So if we want more sucess we need more work as one said.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance against a shorter working week, discussing the negative impacts on the economy, industry productivity, and customer connectivity. Key ideas are presented, such as the relationship between working hours and national development, though some arguments are rather repetitive and under-developed. For instance, the example involving working three days per week is somewhat exaggerated and lacks precise economic support. Nevertheless, the main position is sustained throughout the essay, and the arguments presented are directly relevant to the core question. This performance aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors, as all parts of the task are addressed, but certain ideas remain limited and require further extension and sophistication for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into five paragraphs, showing a clear attempt at a logical structure including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by cohesion and referencing issues. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'Istead of this' and 'in Nutshell'. Paragraphing is present, but internal transitions within paragraphs can be abrupt, making the flow somewhat disjointed. Pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear, which forces the reader to work harder to follow the argument. These features place the response firmly in Band 5, where there is some organization and paragraphing, but overall progression lacks clarity and cohesive devices are inadequate or inaccurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating the basic arguments, featuring terms such as 'economy', 'productivity', and 'development'. However, there is a persistent lack of precision and numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'belive', 'workinf', 'benificial', 'economyrespected', 'indutriy', 'realy', 'aweel', 'eocomy', 'whool', 'Coustumer', 'untill', 'naext', 'Istead', 'alot', 'perfomance', 'demotivate', 'consistancy', and 'thar'. These errors occur throughout the text and often impede the reader's understanding. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary, the high density of lexical and spelling mistakes restricts the score to Band 4, reflecting basic vocabulary where errors frequently strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses ('if we increase weekend that means we decrease workink weekdays'). However, grammatical accuracy is very weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles (e.g., 'that greatly effect our country economy', 'if there is long week end the client wait', 'it make us demotivate'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with lowercase capitalization at the beginning of sentences and after periods, such as 'in Nutshell'. Due to the constant presence of errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning, the grammar corresponds to Band 4, where the range is limited and errors are frequent.
