Student answer (Band 5.5)

The office days should be decreased and the workers should have a more days for weekend. I agree at huge extent with the forementioned notion. So, in the ensuring paragraphs, I have supported my stance with reasonable justifications.

Taking the agreement side into account, the first and foremost reason is that the workers can get enough time to revitalize themselves from long office meetings and lengthy schedules. Workers have ample of time to utilize it for their lesuire time activity and to revive their whole week stress. They can easily enjoy their weekend without any type of tension such as presentation and deadlines. Revitalizing themselves on long weekend can in return enhance the productivity of an individual. A plenty of break from work can also develop working energy and on week days they can enjoy working for long hours without a small break. So that, enjoying longer weekend can fulfill ones eenergy and also increase productivity of an individual as well as of company.

Furthermore, workers can strike a balance between work life and personal life. On week days they can enjoy their work with full focus and on weekends they can enjoy an evening tea with family. They can build a parallel responsibility towards their work and personal relation. Being balancing both lives they can easily get succeed in their career and relation with full grades. Due to this many consequences such as depression and social isolation from relatives will completely mitigate from ones life.

Taking the disagreemet side into the account, taking a long weekend for some individual wouldn't be beneficial it affects his working: efficiency, speed and intrest. Being in long weekends some people sccumb themselves on sofa and enjoy telvision and that can affect them lowering their working intrest and grace.

to conclude, giving long weekends is beneficial for workers because it enhance their productivity and overall working life as well as they can maintain their professional life but utilizing weekend in a beneficial way is upto an individual, whereas company didn't get a way benifit with longer weekend, in contrary, there is a decreasing rate in productivity and development of a company.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the notion of a shorter working week. Main ideas are relevant, such as increased productivity, reduced stress, and work-life balance. However, some ideas are under-developed or briefly treated, particularly when considering counter-arguments. For instance, the paragraph acknowledging the disagreement side mentions that some individuals might succumb to watching television on long weekends, but this point remains somewhat limited and lacks robust elaboration. The conclusion also introduces a slightly contradictory thought regarding companies not getting benefits, which muddies the stance slightly. Overall, the ideas are sufficient for this level, but more fully extending and supporting every point, especially the counter-argument, would elevate the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear organisational structure, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs supporting the stance, acknowledging a counter-perspective, and finishing with a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each main idea grouped logically. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'Taking the agreement side into account' and 'Taking the disagreemet side into the account' are quite formulaic. Furthermore, referencing and logical flow occasionally falter, such as the sudden shift in the conclusion regarding company productivity without prior sufficient setup. Improving the seamless integration of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas will help achieve a higher level of logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to communicate basic ideas. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'revitalize', 'mitigate', and 'forementioned', but these attempts are often accompanied by inaccuracy in word choice, collocation, or form. For example, phrases like 'agree at huge extent' contain preposition errors, and words like 'lesuire' suffer from spelling mistakes. Other lexical inaccuracies include 'sccumb', 'intrest', and 'benifit'. These errors show a limited control of word choice and spelling, occasionally causing slight strain for the reader. Expanding the repertoire of precise academic vocabulary and ensuring accurate spelling and word formation are key areas for development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied grammatical structures. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. These include issues with articles and plurals, such as 'a more days' and 'plenty of break', as well as subject-verb agreement and prepositional use within grammatical patterns, as seen in 'on week days they can enjoy their work'. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to highlight a limited range of reliable structures. To improve, the writer needs to enhance control over complex sentence patterns, article usage, and ensure greater accuracy in basic grammatical agreements.
