Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries, employees work five days a week and have only two days off. Some argue that working week should bs shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. I strongly agree with this statement i will discuss my point of view in upcoming paragraph with logical conclusion.
To start with , ther are many reasons associated with it. The first and foremost point is rest and recover. To explain this, many people exprience stress and demanding schedule. With an extra work off days, workers, should spend with their family, exercise, purse their hobbies and relax. This would help them retune to work feeling more refreshed and mentally prepared. For example, an employe who had enough time to rest over three day weekend may be less likely to burnout that someone who work fo five or six conscetive days.
Moving on, the shorter working week also increase productivity. To justify this, it often assumed that working more hours give great outcomes, but it also do not apply on every case. Tired worker also make loss consentration, make mistake and work more slowly. By contrast, worker who are well rested are genrally able to focus better and complete task more efficiently. Some businesses that have experimented with four day working weeks have reported that employees able to maintain their performance while also enjyoing a better work life balance.
Admittedy, a ahorter working week may not be suitable for every industry. Hospitals, transport services, shops and other essential business often need to oprate every day. However, employees in this sectors could introduce flexible shifts or rotating schedules is that individuals workers still sufficent time off.
In conclusion, i believe that a shorter workng week would be benefical because it could reduce stress, improve work life balance productivity. But in some sectors rotating schedules is better than off days.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear, consistent position throughout in agreement with the prompt. Relevant ideas are introduced regarding stress reduction, family time, and productivity. However, some ideas are under-developed rather than fully extended. For instance, the point regarding productivity is touched upon with mentions of concentration and burnout, but it lacks deeper exploration or more robust examples. The conclusion also introduces a slight shift by discussing rotating schedules rather than focusing purely on the core stance. To reach a higher level, all main arguments need to be more thoroughly supported with detailed elaboration and concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Each paragraph has a discernible central topic, such as rest in the second paragraph and productivity in the third. Cohesive devices are employed, including transitional phrases like 'To start with', 'Moving on', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of cohesion is at times mechanical or formulaic, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as in the transitional links between sentences. Paragraphing is used adequately, but smoother transitions and more varied cohesive markers would elevate the flow of the text to a higher standard.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'burnout', 'efficiently', and 'flexible shifts'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occur throughout the text, including 'bs' instead of 'be', 'exprience', 'employe', 'conscetive', 'consentration', 'genrally', 'Admittedy', 'ahorter', 'oprature', 'benefical', and 'workng'. Furthermore, awkward collocations and word forms appear, such as 'purse their hobbies' instead of 'pursue', 'work off days' instead of 'days off', and 'this sectors' instead of 'these sectors'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage. Examples include missing articles ('working week should bs shorter'), subject-verb agreement errors ('worker who are', 'employees able to'), prepositional misuse ('apply on every case'), and punctuation issues around introductory phrases ('To start with , ther are'). Additionally, some complex structures are faulty or contain tangled phrasing, such as 'is that individuals workers still sufficent time off'. While these errors rarely impede overall comprehension, they prevent the text from achieving a higher level of grammatical control.
