Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern era, it is argued that many individuals prefer that the working week should be shorter and employess have a longer weekend. In fact, I agree with the notion for three main reason.
One of the reason why I agree is work-life balance, when workers get longer weekend they get more time to spend with their faimily members. As an example, When they get more time so they go outside with their family as well as with their children. Like go for shopping and for watching movie on cinema as a result their minde is more clear and they fill relax, so that they can do work more quickly and accurately on next day.
Another reason is they work on their hobby. Many workers worke on their hobby in weekend because in weekend they find peacfull envirounment so they can more focuse on that. Like many male employee perefer to play cricket on weekend beacuse in weekday they not get enough time so that why they play on weekend. As a result they feel relax also many staff do reading, dancing. and some other activty that tye like most. after completing this acitvity they fell more relax and on work day they do work vet accurately.
The final reason is well being. it was very crusial for all workes beacuse when they get holidy from their work they fill relax and it is related to thier health.
To conclude, not only work life balance and work on their study but also benificaial for their health beacuse every thing is very breack is crusial to their life. Therfore, I agree with this statment about worker should have a long weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that the working week should be shortened to allow for a longer weekend. Three main reasons are outlined: work-life balance, hobbies, and general well-being. However, the development of these ideas is uneven. While the second body paragraph offers some specific examples like playing cricket or reading, other sections remain somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on well-being and the conclusion simply reiterate that workers will feel relaxed without adding deep analysis or wider implications. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to extend and support all arguments more thoroughly, ensuring every supporting point adds new substance rather than restating previous claims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the introduction and a concluding summary at the end. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct ideas, such as work-life balance in the second paragraph and hobbies in the third. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical and repetitive, heavily relying on basic connectors like 'As an example', 'Like', and 'As a result'. Furthermore, referencing and logical progression occasionally falter, as seen in the abrupt transition into the well-being argument, which lacks a smooth bridge from the previous paragraph. Improving this area requires a wider variety of sophisticated cohesive devices and more precise referencing to guide the reader seamlessly through the progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to communicate basic points about working hours and weekends. The writer makes several attempts to use less common items, such as 'envirounment', 'crusial', and 'benificaial', but these are undermined by noticeable spelling errors and word-form issues throughout the text. There are also occasional awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'fill relax' instead of 'feel relaxed'. These limitations cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score. To progress, the writer should focus on expanding their lexical control, ensuring accurate spelling of common academic words, and practicing correct word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'employess have', 'when they get more time so they go', and 'in weekday they not get enough time'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing capitalization in places like 'it was very crusial for all workes'. While the meaning can generally be understood, these frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader. Achieving a higher standard requires mastering basic agreement rules, improving control over subordinate clauses, and reducing the frequency of structural errors.
