Student answer (Band 4.5)

In my opinion the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend is i agree and disagree both ways .

first i agree the movement , if any long weekends that time employers are going out or any planning trips , so many people are out of station , genuinely accepted for this , if employer get long weekend ofcourse people are not responding any text , or any emails because they are on vacation mood , and mind also relaxed just relaxing their minds , without stress , most of the people software employees are going for a vacation in longer weekend , For example if im also getting long weekend i'm also planning any trip like Temples ,Beaches , or any resots chilled with my friends and family members , so every one have their own plans like me a long weekend .

Disgree movement is if anyone not interested to go out they are not a that kind of person they people are getting boring feeling working week is shorter , some employees are we are not working this week not much but they pay salary why , like some genuinely people are there , thinking like that , Honestly I'm a chilled out person and not a boring person , some people are atleast not going out also , very boring candidates i don't like , everytime they are thinking , work , money , and sleep . My opinion that is not life exploring new things and chilled with the friends and family one life only just chilled and be happy with the life

conclusion is people are longer weekends didn't respond and not working also .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the task only minimally and presents a confused position regarding whether the writer agrees or disagrees with the prompt. While 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted, the overall approach lacks a well-developed argument. The ideas are limited and under-developed, jumping abruptly between personal anecdotes about going on vacation and loose generalisations about productivity. For instance, the writer states 'i agree and disagree both ways' but struggles to substantiate either side clearly, resulting in repetitive assertions about being a 'chilled out person' rather than structured arguments supported by relevant reasons or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently, and the text lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with the entire body of the response lumped into massive, run-on blocks of text without appropriate separation between the agreeing and disagreeing points. Cohesive devices are either missing or highly repetitive and mechanical, relying heavily on basic conversational transitions like 'first i agree' and 'conclusion is'. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical relationship between sentences and ideas throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, showing frequent errors that strain the reader. The writer relies on simplistic, informal terms such as 'chilled out person', 'resots chilled', and 'very boring candidates' to express ideas. There are noticeable word choice and word form issues, such as using 'Disgree movement' instead of disagreement, and spelling slips like 'resots' instead of resorts. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying simple thoughts, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for academic writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of structures, consisting mostly of poorly controlled simple and run-on sentences. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning, with severe issues in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and clause connection. For example, sentences like 'if employer get long weekend ofcourse people are not responding any text' and 'some employees are we are not working this week not much but they pay salary why' demonstrate a lack of control over basic grammatical patterns and verb forms. Punctuation is largely absent or misused, with spaces misplaced around commas and full stops.
