Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is an ongoing debate that working citizens deserve longer weekends in order to enjoy the hoildays and working days ought to be reduced. I hold the view that, although work life balance is really a crucial factor nowadays, allocating bundle of leaves to the employees is not an ideal approach.
On one hand, having long weekends provide soothing and relaxing affect. It prevents employees from burnout and stress which are the outcomes of hectic daily routine. Parents get an opportunity to spend some quality time with their family members. For instance, planing for outing, having dinner, watching Netflix with childern are some comon activities. Most of the young workers feel delighted to hangouts with pals on weekends. Many individuals argue that, having long weekends provide ample amount of time to do their pending works and assignments.
On the other hand, relying on short working weeks could cause detrimental impacts on country's economy and recoginition of company. In this modern era, where technology has brought surprising modifications and runs the world at rapid pace, the populace should diligently work and take comprehensive steps in order to address the requirements that belong to innovation. To meet the level of developed countries, the developing coutries should rise their standards and escalate the working days in offices and companies. For instance, considering the heavy compitition between numerous companies and firms like mobile phone and garments, the working days in a week should be increase for stability and prosperity.
In conclusion, although lengthy holidays provide convenience and satisfaction to most of the populace, valuable working days play a pivitol role in trasforming nation's lives and achieving future sustainable goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position that the working week should not be shortened. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the benefits of relaxation on one hand versus the economic and corporate consequences of reduced productivity on the other. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the economic perspective is introduced, it tends to generalise without sufficient elaboration, and points in the first body paragraph, such as 'planing for outing, having dinner, watching Netflix with childern', are somewhat repetitive lists rather than fully extended arguments. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to provide deeper, more rigorous elaboration and concrete examples for every main point introduced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a clear overall progression and logical organisation throughout, successfully bridging into the half-band by managing paragraphing appropriately and using standard cohesive markers like 'On one hand,' and 'In conclusion,' to guide the reader. Information and ideas are logically sequenced, moving from the personal benefits of longer weekends to the broader societal and economic implications. However, cohesion occasionally feels slightly mechanical or formulaic, and referencing is not always completely clear. To achieve a fully higher band, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices while ensuring referencing is seamlessly integrated without relying on repetitive transitional templates.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to use less common items such as 'detrimental impacts', 'rapid pace', and 'prosperity'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'hoildays', 'bundle of leaves' instead of paid leave, 'planing', 'childern', 'comon', 'hangouts', 'recoginition', 'coutries', 'rise' instead of raise, and 'compitition'. Furthermore, some collocations are unnatural, such as 'escalate the working days'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the score because they show limited control over precision, spelling, and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination with structures like 'In this modern era, where technology has brought...'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('on country's economy', 'play a pivitol role in trasforming nation's lives'), preposition issues ('belong to innovation'), and subject-verb agreement or pluralisation errors ('the working days in a week should be increase'). Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to easily follow the argument. To move into a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences while maintaining a wider and more accurate variety of complex grammatical structures.
