Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that the working week should be shorter and longer weekend should be provided for workers. I partially agree with this view because shorter working weeks helps to reduce their stress however reducing working days can creates problem for working environment and local peoples. This essay also include a relevant examples and reason why I partially agree with the statement.
For and foremost, the primary reason why shorter working weeks should be beneficial is workers feels more comfortable with working environment and reduces their working stress and pressure. Moreover, it also helps to motivate them towards their working. For instance, a workers working in any manufacturing company have flexible time due to which they can work more conveniently. Therefore, shorter working week is beneficial to reduce workers anxiety and motivate them to their work.
However, sometime longer weekend can create a various problem. Firstly, workers being lazy to work due to longer weekend. Additionally, the speed of work decreadsed due to lack of the number of workers. Nevertheless, longer weekend allows workers to spend time with their family and loved ones. For example, workers working in foreign companies like flipkart and daraz got a longer weekend which helps them to reduce anxiety and pressure of work but sometimes it can slow-down the speed of work.
In conclusion, longer weekend for workers have number of benefits but sometime it can causes some problem. Therefore, companies should balance working weekend for workers which helps them to stay motivated to their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a partial agreement stance, discussing both the benefits of shorter working weeks and the drawbacks of longer weekends. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the positive aspects of reduced working hours are reasonably explained, the counterarguments regarding longer weekends are somewhat limited and repetitive, such as claiming that workers become lazy or that work speed decreases. Furthermore, the position is established in the introduction and maintained throughout the conclusion, though the extension of ideas tends to over-generalise rather than providing deeply explored examples. To reach a higher level, the ideas need to be more fully developed with deeper analysis and more precise, universally applicable examples rather than brief mentions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion logically. The progression of ideas is generally understandable, moving from the benefits to the drawbacks. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'For and foremost' and 'Additionally' are used awkwardly or incorrectly, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use that lacks immediate antecedent clarity. Cohesive devices are employed, but they are sometimes repetitive or inaccurate. To improve cohesion further, you should integrate a wider variety of linking words naturally and ensure that referencing between sentences creates smoother logical bridges without relying on repetitive structural formulas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to discuss a workplace topic using less common items such as 'manufacturing company', 'conveniently', and 'anxiety'. However, there are noticeable vocabulary and spelling errors, such as 'decreadsed', 'peoples', and 'causes some problem' where pluralization and word forms are incorrect. Collocations are sometimes unnatural, as seen in phrases like 'balance working weekend'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the range and precision of the writing. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your lexical repertoire, use less common vocabulary with greater accuracy, and pay closer attention to word forms, spellings, and natural collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors present throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('shorter working weeks helps', 'a workers working', 'workers feels'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional phrases. For instance, writing 'workers working in foreign companies like flipkart and daraz got a longer weekend which helps them' creates run-on and grammatically clumsy patterns. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing. To progress, you must improve your control over basic sentence mechanics, third-person singular verb endings, plural forms, and complex sentence construction.
