Student answer (Band 5.5)

Holidays and working days should equal because people need both rest and work. The working hours should be shorter and employees should have a longer weekends. I, however, partially disagree with this prompt and I will discuss my views in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, the primary point for my disagreement is that people will not able to complete their tasks efficiently and effectively because they will not have adequate time and a significant amount of work that should compete timely but it will not complete because of shorter days. Apart from that, business will not provide more production like they would not able to fulfills customer's demand.

On the other hand, weekdays should be shorter because it will help masses to feel relax and refreshing after a busy days. In addition, they will able to enjoy with their family on the weekends. Moreover, they would pay attention toward their work. Apart from that, the work life balance gives employees more time for family, personal relationships, and household responsibilities. Another point is that time for personal growth like allow space for hobbies, exercise, education, or learning new skill.

To conclude, I believe that working weeks and weekend should equal because both are significant for employers because it help workers to complete their tasks efficiently. Moreover, after longer weekends volunteer become lazy and tired therefore both are crucial.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, and the student's position is somewhat contradictory, stating a partial disagreement in the introduction yet ultimately concluding that working weeks and weekends should remain equal. Ideas remain limited and under-developed, lacking strong, well-supported arguments. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response falls short of the minimum two hundred and fifty words, further impacting the level of task development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident with basic paragraphing and transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand', but the overall progression lacks clarity. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, particularly in the concluding section where the logical thread becomes muddled. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which prevents the essay from flowing smoothly from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic points. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'compete timely' instead of 'completed on time', 'fulfills customer's demand', and 'volunteer become lazy', which cause some difficulty for the reader. Word choice and word form errors occur frequently, reflecting an attempt to use less common items without sufficient control over collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, such as in the clause 'that should compete timely but it will not complete because of shorter days'. Frequent errors occur across verb forms, agreements, and prepositions, including 'will not able to', 'feel relax and refreshing', and 'after a busy days'. These frequent mistakes cause strain and difficulty for the reader.
