Student answer (Band 5.5)
The argument that the working week need to be shorther and workers ought to have a weekend consisting of longer time period now getting polular, but i completely disagree with it because having longer weekend can badly affect the daily schedule. In addition it deeply effect the companies and businesses, and they face financial problems. In this essay disadvantages of longer weekends are mentioned.
Turning to the effects of longer weekends, routine disturbence is included because if the workers spend more time in ammusement and free, they will become lazy and less efficient in work. It is difficult to to do work again as they lost their muscle memory. For instance, employes who are being given more holidays started to ignore their duties, and become reluctant to their responsibilities.
Furthermore, when working weeks are less companies, corporations and businesses face real challenges, and they deal with the significant financial losses. As employes remain reluctant, and they just remain interested in vications. Instead of, managing their jobs and dealing with the problems they remain in the fantacies of holidays. To illustrate, some companies who provide their workers tourism oppourtunities during their working period, despite being more disciplined and punctual they take their work forgranted as they consider them best employ.
In short, the practice or idea of giving the workers longer weekkend is not practical and efficient. Although some companies and businesses give their employs such facilities, end up by facing economic challenges and making staff more and more lazy. Personally speaking, this concept can just bring distraction among workers. However, any positive change is quite difficult.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position of complete disagreement with the prompt. The main ideas regarding the negative impacts on daily routines and business performance are relevant to the question. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For instance, the claim that workers lose their muscle memory or fall into fantasies of holidays is presented with limited support rather than fully explored with compelling examples. To reach a higher level, the arguments need to be more thoroughly substantiated with broader explanations and deeper analysis of why longer weekends would negatively impact productivity.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, as well as distinct body paragraphs addressing specific points like routine disruption and financial challenges for companies. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear. Transitional phrases are basic, and some sentences do not link smoothly to the next, creating a slightly disjointed flow. For instance, starting paragraphs with 'Turning to the effects' is a standard cohesive device, but internal connections within sentences can be repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'and they' to join clauses. Better progression and more flexible cohesive devices would elevate this aspect.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting less common items such as 'financial losses', 'disciplined', and 'economic challenges'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'shorther', 'polular', 'disturbence', 'ammusement', 'employes', 'vications', 'fantacies', 'oppourtunities', and 'weekkend'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the score because they occur with some frequency. To improve, the writer needs to demonstrate greater precision in word choice and eliminate basic spelling mistakes to ensure smooth reading without distraction.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and subordinate clauses. However, there are some errors in grammar and punctuation that occur across the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues such as 'the working week need to be shorther', article omissions and misuse like 'a longer weekend' versus 'longer weekend', and awkward prepositional or infinitive patterns such as 'difficult to to do work'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty or require the reader to slow down. A higher band would require a wider range of error-free complex structures and better control over basic grammatical agreements.
