Student answer (Band 5.5)

I agree with this statement that the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. Because when employees have longer weekends they relax their mind and give more time to their family. There are also many benefits of this, I explian in the forthcoming paragraph.

Firstly, When employees spend long time in the weekends they have fresh mind and prepare actively to welcome the new upcoming tasks. In this way the production capacity will be increase.

Secondly, when the production capacity increase it also effects the growth of the country. When the employees are satisfied with their work , they become loyal to their job, it increase the companies performance.

Moreover when employees spend more time with family in the weekend, they go for outings and dinner it also increase the business circle of the country.

I think this step is plays a crucial part in the country's development.

But some companies does not agree in this statement they said that if the working hours decrease it reduce the production of a company.

Long weeekend elastic our mind and force our mind to do multi tasks. Long weekend developed some hobbies it enhance our thinking lifestye.

But if we waste our weekend do not relax our mind it generates a poor results. We have to make balance in everything.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your response sits at this band because you address the task partially, stating your agreement with the statement and providing some relevant ideas regarding production capacity and family time, though these ideas remain limited and under-developed. Additionally, you failed to meet the minimum length requirement, with the response containing only 210 words after excluding the 13 words copied directly from the prompt. While you attempt to present a position, the reasoning lacks depth, and several points, such as the counterargument regarding company production, are introduced abruptly without sufficient expansion or clear integration into the overall argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response demonstrates some organisation through the use of transition words like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover', yet there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences often feel disjointed and lack smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are at times inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent repetition of 'when' clauses to start sentences (e.g., 'When employees spend long time...', 'when the production capacity increase...'), which makes the structure mechanical and hinders the flow of reading.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate to convey your basic point of view. You rely on simple and repetitive vocabulary throughout the text, such as 'production capacity', 'longer weekend', and 'family time'. There are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and collocation that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as writing 'explian' instead of 'explain', 'elastic our mind' instead of 'relax or stretch our mind', and stating that long weekends 'developed some hobbies it enhance our thinking lifestye' where terms are misused.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles that cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of these errors include 'the production capacity will be increase' (incorrect passive/modal structure), 'some companies does not agree in this statement' (incorrect agreement and preposition), and 'this step is plays a crucial part' (incorrect verb combination). Punctuation and sentence boundaries also require tighter control.
