Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, in the busy world, everyone is indulged in an activity or job in his/her life. It may be a worker or student, a parent or an individual. Some people say that working hours should be minimum and longer should be the weekend. I firmly agree with the statement, the essay will cover the main features that why I agree and what are the benefits of that statement if fufilled.
All people either they are male or female or even trans-gender, nowadays, they are working in different fields. Some of them are engineers, doctors, teachers, labours, mechanics, nurses, students, parents and many more. All of them have their families to spend their leisure with them. After a long weekend they also need rest physically as well as mentally. Although, there are two days off in a weekend but it is too short for them. They need more time after exausting and tiring week of five days. Moreover, labours have the most hectic and drenching jobs. For example, if they do not take rest, they can suffer from anxiety and depression because if they are not healthy, the cannot do their work properly. They also have to look after their family with the lowest income they receive as compared to other professions. Most of them are not educated so they cannot work in a company. They can only do jobs in factories, work as guards or in constructions of building. Furthermore, just like the labours, the doctors also have a very tough job. They need a gap between their working hours. If they do not, it can be very dangerous for a patients. For example, in emergency department, if a nurse or other staff member do not work actively, a patient have to suffer the consequences. Patient may die by getting wrong dose of medication or drip. So, I firmly believe that, people belonging to any field or profession need time for themselves. It will create a healthy and safe environment all around the world. Peple can get time to spend with their families as well as visiting to new boundries. There will be a positive change in their moods and behaviours. Because we all know that if we are physical fit, we can do the hardest work in very short time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing that the working week should be shorter. The ideas presented are relevant, touching upon physical and mental exhaustion, as well as specific professions like labourers and doctors. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the discussion on doctors transitions quickly into potential medical errors without deeply linking back to the core argument of a shorter working week. While the main stance is well-maintained, extending and supporting all arguments with greater depth would elevate the task response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement and follows a clear stance from introduction to conclusion. Paragraphing is used to group ideas, although the main body paragraph is extremely long and would benefit from being broken down into smaller sections to improve progression and readability. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Although', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', but referencing is at times mechanical or slightly unclear, particularly when transitioning between different groups of workers like labourers and doctors. Managing transitions more fluidly between diverse examples will enhance the overall structural flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'exhausting', 'drenching', and 'consequences'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and word forms, such as 'fufilled' instead of fulfilled, 'labours' instead of labourers, and 'boundries' instead of boundaries. Collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'visiting to new boundries'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight the need for greater precision in spelling and lexical selection to meet higher standards.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and sentence patterns is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in article usage, pluralisation, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'everyone is indulged in an activity', 'the cannot do their work properly', 'a patients', and 'if we are physical fit'. Attempts at complex sentences often result in structural awkwardness and agreement issues, such as 'a patient have to suffer the consequences'. A tighter focus on basic grammatical accuracy and cleaner complex structures will significantly strengthen this area.
