Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend become a widely discused issue. Some people agree with this idea, while others disagree. In my opeinion, I completely agree with this statement because it can impeove the mental and physical health of the employes.
The first reason why i agree is that it is very beneficial for the employes mental and physical health. Having a longer weekend can also help employes reduce stress and maintain a better work life balance. If workers should have longer weekend they can spend more quality time with their family, friends and also can participate other personal activities that make feel them relax and refresh. When they should go back to the work they should be more active and focused. Therefore, this can have a positive effect on both employes and businesses.
Another important reason is that a shorter weeking week may also increase productivity. In other words, when empolyes work for a long time period without taking break, they can tired and can't focuse on their work or tast properly. As a result, they can make more mistakes and complete their task less efficiently. In contrast, those employes who have longer weekend, they should more energetic and more focused on work. For instance, some companies also have more flexible working schedules that employes complete thir work more effectivily and also enjoy their job time.
In conclusion, I completely agree that the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. This is because, its important for employes mental and physical health and also for the bussines productivity. For these reasons, I beleive that this is the most appropriate view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout in favor of a shorter working week. Note that 26 words copied directly from the task prompt were not counted towards the minimum length. The main ideas regarding mental health and productivity are relevant, but some aspects are more fully developed than others. For instance, the argument concerning employee health is extended with examples of quality time with family, while the discussion on productivity relies more on repetitive claims rather than fully explored evidence. To reach the next band, all ideas need to be thoroughly extended and supported with deep, robust elaboration throughout every body paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct arguments, such as health benefits versus productivity gains. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty; transitional phrases like 'The first reason why i agree is that' and 'Another important reason is that' are a bit formulaic, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use in 'make feel them relax and refresh'. To move higher, cohesive devices must be managed with greater flexibility and subtlety, ensuring seamless progression throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating central ideas about work-life balance and business efficiency. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reflect a limited and minimally adequate lexical range. Frequent spelling mistakes such as 'discused', 'opeinion', 'impeove', 'employes', 'weeking', 'empolyes', 'focuse', 'effectivily', 'bussines', and 'beleive' appear throughout the text. Additionally, word formation and collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'tast properly' instead of 'tasks properly'. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire and eliminate recurring spelling and word-choice errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination and conditional structures. However, there is a limited range of structures and frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage. Faulty complex structures and awkward verb forms frequently occur, such as 'when empolyes work for a long time period without taking break, they can tired and can't focuse', missing auxiliary verbs, and poor modal verb usage ('When they should go back to the work they should be more active'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. To progress, the writer needs to produce a higher proportion of error-free sentences and exercise better control over complex grammatical patterns.
