Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowdays a vast majority of people are employed, Having workdays shortened allows people to rest form the exhausting work schedules with longer weekend. I completely agree with the statement due to the numerours benefits it brings, including increse in productivity, imporved mental heath and better worklife balance.
Firstly, the primary reason for the shortened work days employee become more productive and more effecient. Researchers has shown that if the worker work for few hours so,they can work with more focus and complete the work effeciently. After the certain point of time employee become less focused, additional working hours can decrease the productivity and increase in number of errors. For instance, in japan a company implement 4 day working in a week and saw 40% increase in the productivity. This indicates that the well rested workforce can accomplish more in less time which benefits both the employees and employer.
Secondly, by giving the longer weekend to the workers it assist them to take break from the daily routine and spend more time with thier families, which help them with thier well being. A more balanced work schedule positvely impact the mental health. In this free time employees utilize thier time for thier personal goal, Along with that some can improve thier skills.
In conclusion,I storngly agrees with the short working days and having more long weekend it ultimetaly bring more benefits. Worker become more productive and less mental drained and high motivation for the job because of balanced work schedule. As result it benefits both the employees and the employer.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout the essay. The writer presents relevant ideas to support the argument, such as increased productivity, improved mental health, and a better work-life balance. However, while the main arguments are identifiable, some ideas are under-developed rather than fully extended. For instance, the point regarding employees utilizing free time for personal goals or skill improvement in the second body paragraph is introduced briefly without sufficient explanation or specific examples. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to provide more thorough elaboration and deeper support for all main points presented.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear central topic. Each body paragraph begins with a clear signal for progression, such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', and the conclusion is properly marked. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always completely clear. For example, the transition between sentences within the body paragraphs can feel abrupt, and pronouns like 'thier' and 'it' sometimes lack precise antecedents, creating minor bumps in reading flow. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but to achieve a higher standard, the writer should employ a wider and more sophisticated variety of cohesive devices to link ideas smoothly rather than relying on basic sequencing words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'productivity', 'efficient', and 'well-being'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occur throughout the text, including 'Nowdays', 'form' instead of 'from', 'numerours', 'increse', 'imporved', 'worklife', 'effecient', 'japan', 'implement', 'positvely', 'thier', 'storngly', 'agrees', 'ultimetaly', and 'drained'. While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they reveal limitations in lexical control and accuracy. To progress further, the writer needs to expand their control over less common vocabulary, ensure correct word forms, and eliminate frequent spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate multi-clause structures. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, but they rarely impede communication. Examples of grammatical and punctuation issues include subject-verb agreement errors like 'Researchers has shown that if the worker work for few hours so, they can work', missing articles such as 'in japan a company implement 4 day working in a week', and punctuation errors like comma splices. The writer shows control over basic sentence construction, but attempts at complex sentences often contain minor errors. To reach a higher band, the writer must produce a greater frequency of error-free complex sentences and improve overall control of verb forms and articles.
