Student answer (Band 5.0)

There will be an ongoing debate about whether working week should be shorter and worker should have a longer weekend. Some people believe that working week should be shorter and worker should have a longer weekend. But other believe this is not necessary. I really agree this statement because worker can do 5 days work in a week it has bad effect on their health. So, I will give my opinion in this regard in the upcoming paragraph.

First of all, working week should be shorter because some worker do worked at outside like the construction labour its work is very tough. However, the worker do work same activity five days in a week, it has very bad effect on his health. The people do work in 4 days and 3 days holidays in the weekend beacuse its mind will relax and good health. In the weekend holiday there enjoyed the different activities to relax the mind. This is a reason the wooking week should be shorter and workers should have a long weekend.

Futhermore, this is not for worker who worked inside the office because its work is not tough and hard. In the weekend the two days holidays is enough for relaxing and refreshing.

In conclusion , i would like to conclude this essay by saying that working week should be shorter while the holiday have longer weekend because it help to relax the mind and better health for the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear general position—“I really agree”—and give a relevant reason: physically demanding work may affect workers’ health. However, the response only partially develops the argument. The construction-worker example is introduced, but the effects and the proposed four-day week are not explained with specific support; the point about office workers also complicates your position without clarifying whether you support a shorter week for everyone or only some workers. The conclusion repeats the main claim rather than resolving this distinction. The response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the task prompt are excluded. Develop each reason with explanation or a concrete example, and make your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “First of all” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression is limited, and several links between sentences are unclear. For example, “However, the worker do work same activity five days” does not clearly connect to the preceding point, while the shift to office workers in the second body paragraph is not reconciled with your overall agreement. Some linking phrases are repetitive or mechanical, and the conclusion begins “In conclusion” before repeating “I would like to conclude.” Organise the body around distinct reasons, use clear references to connect each sentence, and avoid repeating the same transition or conclusion signal.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic subject, including “working week,” “construction,” “health,” “relaxing,” and “refreshing.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “working week should be shorter” and “long weekend.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “do work at outside,” “same activity,” and “its mind will relax,” which make parts of the argument harder to follow. Spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “wooking,” and “Futhermore” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for working conditions and wellbeing, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in basic sentence patterns, agreement, articles, and verb forms frequently affect clarity. Examples include “whether working week should be shorter,” “other believe,” and “some worker do worked.” The sentence “the people do work in 4 days and 3 days holidays” also has problems with its verb construction and plural forms. Punctuation and capitalisation are uneven, as in “In conclusion , i.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, article use, and past or present verb forms before adding more complex clauses; then proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
