Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that working week should be shorter and only workers should have a longer weekend. Where as, other people believe that everybody get the similar working week and weekend. I agree with, working week should be shorter but not only for workers should have a longer weekend.
First advantage of working week get shorter, people who work for somebody they start having little less stressfull life. People get more free time with their family and friends. As they knew, working week is shorter, let's finish all the tasks before weekend start. Because, we work only 5 days a week better to finsih the work in four days. Company also get benefits with that, they dont have to pay more and their task get done.
Secod disadvantage of shorter working week, people looses their jobs. Because of the long weekend they wanted more free time and when they comes at work, they dont focus. People just come at work to get paid, not for the multiple task to get done. Company started loosing their business in all area. Sometimes, they fired the workers because of being laziness.
Worker only have a longer weekend, it is only beneficial for workers. I agree that, worker do a lot of hard work compare to someone work in the office. Instead of giving only worker a long weekend, workers payroll have to be increased. So, they knew if they dont work week days they get less paid.
Overall, I agree om working week should be shorter but I disagree that only worker have a longer weekend. Because, for working for somebody there is always advantage and disadavantages there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is identifiable: you support a shorter working week but oppose giving a longer weekend only to workers. You address both the shorter-week proposal and the question of who should benefit, and you give relevant points about stress, family time, productivity and fairness. However, some reasoning is unclear or insufficiently developed. For example, the claim that a longer weekend makes workers lose focus and causes companies to lose business is asserted without a clear explanation or example. The point about increasing workers’ pay also needs to be connected more explicitly to your argument. Develop each main idea with a specific explanation or example, and make the distinction between a shorter working week and a longer weekend clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and some linking phrases are mechanical or do not express the intended relationship. For instance, “Secod disadvantage” introduces a point about workers losing jobs, but the following explanation shifts to motivation and company performance without clearly connecting these ideas. The opening contrast beginning “Where as” is also awkwardly joined to the first sentence. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain it in a logical sequence; use linking words only when their relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “stressful life,” “free time,” “benefits,” “business” and “payroll.” There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as workers’ focus and company performance. However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms and spellings are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “people looses their jobs,” “their task get done,” “workers payroll” and “being laziness.” Spelling errors such as “finsih,” “Secod” and “disadavantages” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for work and employment, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures with reasons, such as “Because of the long weekend…” and “As they knew…,” but control of these more complex forms is often weak. Errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur throughout: “everybody get,” “people looses,” “when they comes,” and “Company started loosing” are examples. Some clauses are incomplete or awkwardly connected, as in “Where as, other people believe…” and “Because, we work only 5 days a week better to finsih the work in four days.” These patterns sometimes make the intended relationship between ideas difficult to understand. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete clause structures, then use a few controlled complex sentences to explain causes and consequences.
