Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some believes that the workers should be provided by a longer weekend by shortning their working days. From my perspective, my opinion totally contradict with this statement as it has a very devasting effects on workers as well as to the company's progress.
The most prominent reason to disagree with this statement is that in this high competitive era, where employees are barely managing their households with hand to mouth compensation, reducing their working hours will directly effect their salary. For instance, in third world countries where compensation is very less in comparison to inflation, shorter week would definitly cause more huddles to mange households. Additionally, there would be more work load on the employees, that leads to more stress and anxiety that should cause mental instability. And in these conditions, workers can not focus on thier desired goals which would cost in their self gromming too.
Moreover, having a longer weekend means that the workload mangement of a comapny itself rises a few questions. There is a proper yearly goals fora any companies to achieve. Changing in working days should definitly effect theor whole system. Lets say, the company has to do deliver specific product with specific units within a month, so they have desined their work flow like that. But if there is a longer weekend, the work which is to be done in a week, goes to the second week which alternativly effect the company progress. And with that the not only company would face difficulties but also employees are also directly face problems.
Concluding my opinion, there should not be longer weekend as it cause a major problem for workers. Rather, company and government should introduce such policies that keeps the employees mentally stress free so that the can utilies the required weekend with full interest.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“my opinion totally contradict[s]” the proposal—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: reduced hours may affect workers’ income, and longer weekends may disrupt company schedules. The examples about household costs and monthly production targets help make the argument concrete. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the claim that shorter hours would reduce salary is assumed rather than explained, since pay could remain unchanged, and the point about stress and “self grooming” is not clearly connected to the proposed change. To strengthen the response, explain the conditions behind each claim and develop one example more fully, while acknowledging that shorter weeks could benefit workers in some circumstances.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a concluding recommendation. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “Moreover,” and “Concluding my opinion” signal the main stages, and the company-production example follows the point about scheduling. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “And in these conditions” does not clearly identify which conditions are meant, while “And with that” introduces a consequence without a precise reference. The second body paragraph also moves from company targets to employee difficulties without fully explaining the connection. Use clearer topic sentences and refer explicitly to the idea each pronoun or linking phrase represents; this would make the progression smoother and more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “compensation,” “inflation,” “workload,” “anxiety,” and “yearly goals.” These choices show an effort to discuss both workers’ circumstances and business operations. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations are frequent enough to distract the reader: examples include “shortning,” “devasting effects,” “hand to mouth compensation,” “huddles,” and “work flow.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “self gromming” and “utilies the required weekend.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A smaller set of well-controlled terms—such as “household expenses,” “financial pressure,” “production targets,” and “employee wellbeing”—would communicate your ideas more precisely than ambitious but unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause beginning “where employees are barely managing…” and a conditional example introduced by “if there is a longer weekend.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “Some believes” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, “my opinion totally contradict with” lacks a correctly formed verb pattern, and “the not only company would face difficulties but also employees are also directly face problems” is structurally faulty. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check agreement and verb forms, and revise long sentences for punctuation and clarity.
