Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is an ongoing controversy about the extend of working days. People suggest that reducing working days per week and extending weekend for employees. I strongly agree with this opinion becacuse it provides benefits for both workers and companies.
Reducing work-related stress that frequently associated with shorter weekend consider the main advantage behind shortining working week. Employees tend to spend significant amount of time working inside manufactures or companie offices, performing different tasks and difficult responsibilities, which may put them under high stress, exhaustion, and mental fatigue. Therefore, by giving them longer weekend, they can enjoy their hobbies and spend time with friends or family. As a result, this will reduce the stress and keep them fresh and mentaly oriented towards the next working week. For exmaple, dentists tend to face a high pressure during the treatment of NHS patients in hospitals, shorting their working days will allow them to spent extra days palying football or visiting friends. Therefore, this approach has a positive impact on employees mental and physical health.
In addition, the financial benefit that companies might gain from reducing working days also appreciated. This is because employees they will start the next working week with massive amount of energy and they become mentally oriented to provide high quality services for coustomers. For instance, after three resting days, individuals who work in banks in the customer service department may give deep explaination about the annuall profits the bank offers for new customers, which could encourages people to become member of this banks. Subsequently, this will positivily affect bank financial stability as people will trust them and open saving accounts. Therefore, longer weekend positively support companies financial satbility.
In conclusion, allowing employees to have longer weekend will reduce work-relate stress and improve jobe satisfaction, which encourages them to provide good services and supports the financial stability of orgnaisations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the question with two relevant reasons: a longer weekend may reduce employees’ stress and improve their performance, which could benefit companies financially. The examples about dentists and bank customer-service staff help illustrate these points, and the response explains the proposed cause-and-effect links. To strengthen the argument further, develop the examples more precisely and avoid broad claims such as employees returning with a “massive amount of energy.” The discussion could also explain more directly why a shorter working week, rather than simply more rest, would produce the stated benefits. Overall, the task is addressed clearly, with ideas supported, though some claims are generalised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a conclusion that restates the position. The progression from employee wellbeing to company finances is logical, and signposting such as “In addition,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. Cause-and-effect links are also made explicit with phrases such as “As a result” and “Subsequently.” At times, however, these linking expressions are used repeatedly, making the connections feel somewhat formulaic. Some sentences also contain several related points, so the relationship between them is not always smooth. Aim for more varied, less conspicuous transitions and ensure each example is integrated directly into the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work-related stress,” “mental fatigue,” “job satisfaction,” and “financial stability,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “oriented towards.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “extend” for “extent,” “shortining,” “companie offices,” “explaination,” and “positivily.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “massive amount of energy,” “deep explanation,” and “longer weekend positively support” do not express the intended ideas naturally. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main argument, but they make the vocabulary less controlled. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, especially when describing workplace benefits and customer service.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “because,” and “after,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and grammatical forms. For example, “People suggest that reducing working days per week and extending weekend for employees” is an incomplete sentence, while “Reducing work-related stress that frequently associated…” is missing a verb form. Other examples include “employees they will start,” “which could encourages,” and “people who work … may give,” where agreement or sentence structure is faulty. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “longer weekend” and “this banks.” Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms; greater accuracy would make your complex ideas easier to follow.
