Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argues that the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. This essay agrees with the statement.
First and foremost, a longer working week cause alot of physical and mental stress for the workers. When they work for longer time they become exhaused and they are also not able to perform well in their work. Moreover, the continuous stress also leads to a poor mental health. If the working week would be made shorter with longer weekend the workers can perform more efficiently in their jobs. For example, if a person is working continuously without any rest he is not going to perform very well in his job but if he is given longer time to rest he can do well.
Another main reason is that longer working week prevents the workers to spend time with family. They are not able to give time to their families and loved ones. Due to their busy work schedules and long working hours, they often feel exhausted and have little time to interact with their loved ones. As a result, they may miss important family occasions, such as birthdays and celebrations, and become less involved in their children's lives. This can weaken family relationships and negatively affect their work-life balance. Therefore, a shorter working week would allow employees to spend more time with their families and enjoy a healthier, happier life.
In conclusion, working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend so they can enjoy a healthy lifestyle and spend time with their loved ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“This essay agrees”) and maintained in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: shorter weeks may reduce stress and improve performance, and they can give workers more time with family. The second point is developed more fully, with consequences such as missing birthdays and weaker family relationships; the first relies on a general example and would benefit from more specific support. The response addresses the question, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. It also contains 237 words, so it is 13 words below the 250-word minimum; the 25 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop the first reason with a concrete example or explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from workers’ wellbeing to family life is logical, and linking phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Moreover,” and “As a result” help show relationships between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical, and the first paragraph repeats the idea of working without rest rather than extending the example. The conclusion also restates the main position without drawing together the two supporting points. To strengthen cohesion, use referencing more precisely and make each example add new information, while varying transitions rather than relying mainly on formulaic signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main arguments, including relevant phrases such as “physical and mental stress,” “work-life balance,” and “family relationships.” There are also attempts at more specific language, for example “less involved in their children's lives.” However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “alot” should be written as “a lot,” “exhaused” is misspelled, and “longer working week” is repeated frequently. Some phrases are awkward, such as “give time to their families”; more natural wording would be “spend time with their families.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for workload, recovery, and family responsibilities, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and longer structures, including conditional forms (“if he is given longer time to rest”) and a result clause (“As a result, they may miss important family occasions”). Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “It is argues” has an incorrect verb form, “a longer working week cause” has subject–verb disagreement, and “if the working week would be made shorter” uses an unsuitable conditional construction. Articles and plural forms also need attention in phrases such as “for longer time” and “a poor mental health.” Practise accurate agreement, articles, and conditional patterns, then proofread each sentence for these points.
