Student answer (Band 5.0)
Today ,the working week should be short and the weekend replaced with long one and employees should have longer weekends to rest , what are the reasons for that?
Firstly, the employees have a full week with stress, hard work, and pressure which are bad for the human mental health such as i know one from my family had sickness cause stress from manager and deadline of their project . In addition, i see worker should spend more quality time with their families and make more memories with them example: a new father should have a more time with his new born kid and remember small details about him . One of important reason enough take rest for longer weekend and back to the work more productive . finally , its neccesary to add a new activities and hobbies such as sport like gym or learning a new skill example piano all this should add it in the schedule of employees to refresh their mindset and brain and being more productive for the work
In the conclusion, we need to take action and make the weekend for employees more longer to save them and see more good productive results

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear general position in favour of a shorter working week, and your reasons—reducing stress, spending time with family, and returning to work refreshed—are relevant. The family example about a new father also helps make one point more concrete. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the reasons are briefly stated rather than explained, and the effect of shortening the working week is not explored in detail. The opening question does not clearly establish your position, while the conclusion repeats the recommendation without adding a final insight. The response is also 51 words below the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop and support your ideas. Explain how longer weekends would benefit workers and employers, and add a specific example or qualification.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: you present several reasons in a body paragraph and finish with a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “In addition,” and “In the conclusion” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the body paragraph contains many different points in one long sequence, so the progression is difficult to follow. Some links are unclear—for example, the move from family time to productivity and then to hobbies—and “finally” introduces another point without a clear paragraph break. The conclusion largely repeats the main recommendation. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons, and connect each example directly to the point it supports. This would make the overall progression clearer and reduce the reliance on basic, sometimes awkward linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “pressure,” “mental health,” “productive,” “activities,” and “hobbies.” You also attempt more specific expressions, including “quality time” and “new born kid.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which can make the reader pause. For instance, “the weekend replaced with long one” does not express the proposal naturally, and “save them” is vague in the conclusion. Spelling errors such as “neccesary” and “memories” aside, focus on choosing precise phrases and checking word forms. More accurate expressions for workload, recovery, and work-life balance would help you explain your position more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and examples, as in “a new father should have a more time with his new born kid,” but complex sentences are often difficult to follow because of frequent errors. The opening sentence joins several ideas without a clear grammatical structure, and the body includes problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries. For example, “one of important reason” needs a determiner and plural agreement, while “all this should add it in the schedule” has an unclear subject and verb construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, including the comma after “Today” and the lowercase “i.” Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking articles, verb forms, and punctuation.
