Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that the week should be shorter and worker should have long weekend, it is true that people should enjoy their weekend after a long week of work and their hectic routine. during the week days workers do their assign work with great energy and more strength and for better productivity their should be long weekend so the workers will relax their mind body. subsequently in the next week the worker will be more refreshing and relax to do their assign work.

when the workers in the factories do their job daily and there is no relax day for them, they will get tired. they lack productivity which is very important in every business. The more people are productive in their workplace or factories, the chances of profit in business are more. on the other side if there is no long weekend and there is no time for the workers to relax their mind and body they will not do their jobs productively as compared to the healthy mind and relax body.

the other factor which is important for worker is family. when a worker has long weekend, he has more time to spend with family and he has a healthy mind. if the working week is shorter, the worker will spend more time in family which subsequently lead to the benefit of the society. they can guide and upbring their children in a better way. so the children will become the better person in society and contribute a good role in the society and for their motherland.

Inconclusion it is wrong to say that the workers should have long weekend and short week days which are important for both mental and physical health of the worker as well as beneficial for the better society

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your response addresses the topic and gives relevant reasons for supporting a shorter working week, particularly improved productivity, workers’ health, and more time with family. These points show a consistent general direction, but your position is not fully clear: the conclusion says “it is wrong to say” workers should have a long weekend, which appears to contradict the arguments in favour of one. The reasons are also asserted more than explained. For example, you say family time benefits society and helps children become better people, but do not provide a specific example or explain the link in detail. State your agreement or disagreement clearly in the introduction and maintain it, then develop each main reason with explanation or an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for productivity, family life, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “on the other side” and “the other factor” signal a change of point. However, progression is weakened by the unclear conclusion and by ideas that repeat rather than build: the first two paragraphs both return to workers needing rest to be productive. Some linking expressions are used mechanically or do not express the intended relationship, and references such as “they” can be unclear. Use a focused introduction, one paragraph per distinct reason, and a conclusion that restates the same position. Connect each claim to its explanation more explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “productivity,” “factories,” “mental and physical health,” and “society.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “worker,” “long weekend,” and “relax.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “relax their mind body,” “do their assign work,” and “contribute a good role.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, even though the overall topic remains understandable. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for work and wellbeing, and check word forms and spelling. For instance, use “complete their assigned tasks” and “play a positive role in society.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, including with “when,” “if,” and “which,” but the range of sentence structures is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “worker should have” needs a plural or article, while “the worker will be more refreshing” has an incorrect form for the intended meaning. Several sentences run together with commas, and new sentences begin with lowercase letters, as in “during the week days.” These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
