Student answer (Band 5.5)

The advancements in technology have changed the life of people and coverted the world into a global village. Now people have focus more on the work because the competetion is now not only inside of city or the country even there is a global competetion in every field of work.I disagree with the statement that workers should get longer weekend.I think that people shoukd focus more on the work instead of relaxing.

Most of the people work for five to six days in a week and still they are not able to complete the given taks in this period the reason behind this is the competetion in every field of work. The people who are working in big and succesful companies are just allowed for off on sundays and I think the demand of work is too much now a days because the world is going towards the advancement every second.I belive that the reason behind sucess of a person is giving proper time to work.

For example If a person is working in an international company that person must have a load of work and demand will be to complete the given task in a spesfic time period. In this case that worker has to manage the time and focus on the task to get desired results of the company. But if the same worker will spend more time on relaxing after getting a longer weekend he would not be able to complete the task.Furthermore, the worker will not get the peoper time to make authentic plans and execute the palns in a efficient way.The main factor in the way of sucess if managing proper time for work.

However, workers should get peoper time for rest so thier body can cooperate them while working. But 2 days in a week are enough foor a person to relaxing and enjoying thier social life, and spend quality time with thier families. Also companies should arrange a proper vaction plans for the employes so they can have some free time to heal thier brain and body after a spesific time of working.

To conclude this,I will say that two days for weekend are more than enough for workers to relax and spend time with thier families and enjoy so

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you disagree with longer weekends, arguing that work demands are increasing and that time management supports success. You also acknowledge the opposing consideration that workers need rest and family time, then explain why you consider two days sufficient. These points address the task and are relevant. The example of an employee in an international company helps illustrate your reasoning, but it is hypothetical and its claim that a longer weekend would prevent task completion is not fully explained. Some ideas, such as the link between working more and personal success, are asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, develop the consequences of a shorter week or longer weekend with a specific, convincing example and clarify how your claims follow.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, the middle paragraphs give reasons and an example, and the final paragraph acknowledges rest before concluding. This creates an overall coherent arrangement. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are joined together without clear explanation. For instance, the international-company example moves from workload to planning and then to success without showing the links between these points. Connectors such as “Furthermore” and “However” help signal relationships, but some transitions feel mechanical, and the conclusion ends abruptly rather than fully summarising your position. Use clearer topic sentences, develop one main point at a time, and make references such as “this worker” or “this case” precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “global competition,” “advancement,” “manage the time,” and “social life.” This is enough to communicate your main position, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “work,” “time,” and “success.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “coverted,” “competetion,” “sucess,” and “authentic plans,” which can distract the reader or make meaning less precise. Some combinations are unnatural, including “allowed for off on Sundays” and “time to relaxing.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for employment, productivity, and rest, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a person is working … that person must have a load of work” and a contrast introduced by “However.” These attempts show some range, and the main argument is generally understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur. For example, “Most of the people work for five to six days in a week and still they are not able to complete” needs clearer clause punctuation, while “if the same worker will spend more time” uses an unsuitable verb form after “if.” The final sentence is incomplete, and punctuation spacing and comma use are inconsistent. Practise accurate conditional forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then check that every sentence is complete.
