Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argue that during week days working should be shorter for workers and it should have a longer week ends. In this essay i will discuss its advantages or disadvantages, and i believe that it is good for employees and makes them more relaxed.

In the one hand, it is benificial that their working period should be shorter on week days and worker should have a longer weekend. It helps employees to become focused, however if they spend short time in something so it reduce stress. they not need to think whole days which makes them more focused and increase their efficiency. For example, sometimes business face huge loss, but instead of think about if whole time and increase pressure they need to become focused and find solution. Hence, working week should be shorter and workers have longer break time.

In the other hand, it also have some demarits to have shorter working period, it also make employee more lazzy. furthermore, if weekend become longer so employee don't need for hardwork they just want more and more day off which create a huge impact on business. Due to this it bome a reason of huge loss.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall preference for a shorter working week, and you include reasons on both sides, such as reduced stress and a possible negative effect on business. However, the task asks whether you agree or disagree, while the introduction says you will discuss advantages and disadvantages; your position is therefore not consistently framed as a direct answer. The supporting ideas are limited and under-developed: the example about a business facing a loss does not clearly show how shorter hours improve efficiency, and the disadvantage is asserted rather than explained. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which restricts how fully you can develop your reasons and examples. State your position directly and extend each main point with a clear explanation or relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction followed by one paragraph for each side, and signposts such as “For example” and “Hence” help show some relationships between ideas. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear. In the first body paragraph, the link between shorter hours, reduced stress, focus, and the business-loss example is difficult to follow. The second paragraph ends with “Due to this it bome a reason of huge loss,” without clearly explaining the cause-and-effect relationship. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically, and the conclusion is absent. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point; finish with a brief restatement of your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “employees,” “focused,” “stress,” “efficiency,” and “business,” so the reader can identify the main subject and ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response less clear. Examples include “benificial,” “demarits,” “lazzy,” and “bome,” as well as the unnatural phrase “think whole days.” Repetition of “huge loss” and “focused” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, use “reduced working hours,” “employee productivity,” and “financial losses” where appropriate, while ensuring each phrase fits the meaning you intend.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “however if they spend short time in something so it reduce stress.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to understand. For example, “It is often argue” needs a passive verb form, “it also have” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “they not need to think whole days” is missing necessary grammatical elements. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “stress. they.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then combine them with clear connectors; check verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation during revision.
