Student answer (Band 5.5)

Work load increasing day by day. The working days ought to be shorter and workers ought to have long holidays. I completly agree with this notion and the reasons will be elaborated in upcoming paragraphs.

To embark on, the prominent reason is to agree with this notion is workers have not sufficent time to spend on others things. If workers spend time with their family they can not spend time on vaccation or outing. Moreover, by extending the weekends wokers can learn new skill. If individuals have time they can learn any skills they want which is beneficial for future.Further more, It also increase the earning of workers because long weekends means they can do more overtime on weekends and get more money. For example, a person gets salary 10,000 per month by doing over time on weekends it can be increased ups to 17,000 to 18,000 from which they also can do saving.

In addition, it is also beneficial for the buisness and employer because long holidays give sufficent time for realxing and wokers come with fresh mind and new ideas on working days. Furthermore, workers can focous on their health by eating and making healthy meals and can go to doctor if regular chekup is required. For example, human beings have not time to do gym so, long weekends help them for doing gym.

To conclude, the working week should be shorter and workers have long weekend which is very beneficial for workers because it gave much time to spend with famliy, outings, pending works and also increase salary of worker and it is also helplful for employers

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including more time for family, learning skills, improving health, and returning to work refreshed; the salary example also attempts to support your point. This addresses the task, but some ideas are more fully explained than others. For instance, the link between longer weekends and earning more through overtime is asserted rather than showing how this fits a shorter working week, and the business benefit of “new ideas” is not illustrated. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and distinguish a longer weekend from taking a holiday. The response covers the question, but its support is uneven.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related points, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track because several benefits are added without being clearly connected. The first body paragraph moves from family time to learning skills and then overtime income, while the relationship between these points is not explained. Some linking phrases also feel mechanical or are used where a clearer sentence connection would help. Organise each body paragraph around one central reason, explain it, and then give a directly relevant example; use referencing and transitions to show how each sentence develops that reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “working days,” “weekends,” “overtime,” “employers,” “healthy meals” and “salary.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “fresh mind and new ideas.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make the writing less natural, for example “long holidays” when discussing weekends, “spend time on others things,” and “do saving.” Misspellings such as “sufficent,” “buisness” and “focous” are noticeable. Build a more accurate set of phrases for work-life balance and productivity, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons clearer without changing your overall argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If individuals have time they can learn any skills they want” and a sentence beginning “because long weekends means…”. This shows an effort to express cause and effect, but control is inconsistent. Some sentences are missing a subject or verb, as in “Work load increasing day by day,” and agreement is inaccurate in “it also increase” and “long weekends means.” There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, including “workers have not sufficient time” and the run-on ending of the conclusion. Aim to produce complete, accurate sentences first, then add complex clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation when editing.
