Student answer (Band 6.5)

In modern era, working duration holds a significant place in boosting productivity of employees. Some people believe that people from working class has have longer weekend and shorter working week days. I completely agree with this notion because it boosts productivity and provides better work-life balance. The explaination for my agreement is discussed in followng paragraphs.

The primary reason to provide prolong week ending is increase in productivity of workers. For instance, providing 2 days off every week assist employees in relaxation after busy working condition during week days. This contributes in working with more effeciency the followind week. A longer duration for good rest is extremely beneficial to maintain mental health. It help to improve critical thinking, problem solving skill which are crucial for workplace. An improper rest result in stress to brain which reduces overall performance worker, which in turn leads to reduction in efficiency of the companies. However, it may increase workload, but equal distrubution of work among staff can solve this issue.

Furthermore, in modern society people focuses more on work-life blance. A balance between person and professional aspets helps to spend a greater quality time with their families. This can strenghten the bond between memers. Eventually, leading to better personal life. Agood example of this is, when working personnel has good relationship with family, they provide more sttention to work rather than thinking on improving bonding or solving conflicts among members. Consequently, happy employees result in happier workplace.

In conclusion, despite of increasing workload due to reduction in workings days, it emphasis more merits than demerits. A longer weekend can boost productivity and provides better work-life balance. Ultimately, better working condition makes companies betterand sucessfull.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both benefits named in your argument: improved productivity and a better work-life balance. The productivity paragraph gives a relevant explanation linking rest with mental health and workplace performance, while the family example supports your second reason. You also acknowledge a possible drawback, increased workload, and offer a response through distributing work among staff. This covers the task well. To strengthen the response further, develop the practical implications of a shorter working week more specifically; for example, explain how employers could reorganise hours or why the benefits would outweigh the workload concern. Some claims, such as happier employees making companies more successful, remain broad.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “The primary reason,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. The ideas within each paragraph are generally linked logically, particularly the sequence from rest to improved performance. At times, however, connections are less smooth: “Eventually, leading to better personal life” is a fragment, and the example about family relationships shifts abruptly into employees’ attention at work. Some linking phrases also make the writing feel formulaic. Use clearer references and explain the relationship between each example and its main point to make progression more seamless.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “productivity,” “work-life balance,” “critical thinking,” and “workload,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “explaination,” “effeciency,” “distrubution,” and “sucessfull” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “prolong week ending,” “working condition,” and “thinking on improving bonding.” These issues limit the precision and naturalness of your vocabulary, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Focus on accurate spelling and common collocations, and choose words that express the intended idea directly rather than translating phrases literally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex structures, including a reason clause with “because,” a conditional example beginning “when,” and a concession introduced by “However.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “people from working class has have” contains an incorrect and unrevised verb phrase, while “providing 2 days off every week assist employees” needs subject–verb agreement. “It help to improve” and “people focuses” show similar agreement problems. The fragment “Eventually, leading to better personal life” is also incomplete. Review agreement and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence to ensure that its subject and verb match and that every sentence expresses a complete thought.
