Student answer (Band 5.5)
there are 5 workings days for the workers and remaining two days are counting as weekends or holidays . i think there should be more holidays for the corporate labours atleast one more
because the 2 days passes too fast lets understand through an example the weekdays from monday to Friday workers work very hard because there is competition in the market and pressure of the work from boss so nowadays working culture is very rough for workers so adding another day as holiday would be easy for the people to cop up with pressure and tension
The weekends as Saturday and Sunday people are busy doing house hold chores as laundry, cleaning and other stuff and other day as sleeping or anything for keeping the themselves free from tension adding another day a extra paid leave they'll feel extra relax and focus on their work more efficiently after 3 days of holidays workers will not feel exhausted and tired or sleepy
Everybody can use these holidays according to their personal need as if someone wants to meet their relatives they can visit them or spend some valuable time with their family of their life they can go for shopping or traveling or where ever they decide
Example there is uncle of mine who lives in jamshedpur but due to work load he visits her mother in festival only due to the distance between their home town to work place but if he'll get an extra day as a holiday he can visit his mother 4 times in a week
So in this way additional holiday will work for workers in a good positive way

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support a shorter working week, and you give relevant reasons, including pressure at work, time for household responsibilities and family, and your uncle’s difficulty visiting his mother. These points address the question and the personal example helps make the argument concrete. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. For instance, you say an extra day would help workers “focus on their work more efficiently,” but do not explain how this might benefit employers or address possible drawbacks such as workload or pay. The uncle example is also unclear when you say he could visit “4 times in a week”; explain whether you mean four times a year or more often. Developing these points would make the response more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall sequence: it introduces your view, gives reasons related to rest and personal time, provides an example, and ends with a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, ideas are often joined in long stretches without clear paragraph breaks or punctuation, so relationships between points can be difficult to follow. For example, the discussion of weekend chores, an extra paid day, and improved work efficiency runs together. Linking phrases such as “for example” and “so” are used, but the progression can feel mechanical, and references such as “another day” are not always precise. Use separate paragraphs for each main reason and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “pressure,” “household chores,” “exhausted,” and “relatives.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “working culture” and “valuable time.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “corporate labours,” “the 2 days passes too fast,” “cop up with pressure,” and “extra relax.” Spelling and word forms also need attention, as in “where ever” and “work load.” Build a bank of natural phrases for work-life balance and check collocations and spelling when editing; this will help you express familiar ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences that explain causes and results, such as the sentence beginning “because there is competition in the market.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short sentences. However, control is uneven: some sentences contain several clauses without clear punctuation, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and pronouns can make the reader pause. For example, “the 2 days passes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “if he'll get an extra day” uses an unsuitable conditional form. The sentence about your uncle also shifts between “he” and “her.” Practise accurate conditional structures and divide long sentences into shorter units, checking each clause for a clear subject and verb.
