Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people argue the working days of employee should be reduced and they should have a longer weekend. I completely agree with this view because longer holidays helps to promote work-life balance and reduces the stress level of workers.

One of the major reason of supporting with this view is that it allows employees to balance the time between work and personal responsibilities. This is because when workers are provided longer holidays, they get longer period of time to spend with families and friends. As a result, they can create stronger bonds with them. For instance, People can arrange the longer holidays plans with their loved ones which not only helps to unwind but also strengthen the relationships. In addition, people can allocate time for personal responsibilities such as taking carte of their eldery parents and helping their partners in household chores which can helps to maintain good relationships with families.

Another benefit of having longer weekend is that it helps people to unwind from work pressure. This is to say that, employees often get exhausted from longer working hours anf if lthey are provided longer holidays, they can involve in the activities in which they are intrested in.For instance, People who are intrested in sports can participate in sports activites which helps them to relax from work load.

In conclusion, i largely believe working week days of workers should be reduced and they should have longer weekends because it helps to maintain the work life balance and keep relax from work pressure.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: a longer weekend can support family and personal responsibilities, and it can help workers recover from pressure. The examples about caring for elderly parents and taking part in sports make the discussion relevant. However, the first reason receives much more explanation than the second, which is mostly repeated through a general example. The response also focuses on the benefits of longer weekends without explaining how a shorter working week could be arranged or addressing possible limitations. Develop each main point more evenly and explain the link between reduced working days and the benefits you describe.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Signposting such as “One of the major reason” and “Another benefit” helps readers follow the argument, while “For instance” introduces examples. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “This is to say that” does not add much to the second paragraph, and the sentence beginning “In addition” extends the first point without a clear distinction between family relationships and personal responsibilities. Some references, such as “them” and “this view,” could be more precise. Use transitions selectively and make each paragraph’s central idea and supporting explanation more clearly connected.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “work-life balance,” “personal responsibilities,” “unwind,” and “work pressure.” These expressions help communicate your main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “longer holidays” for a longer weekend, “balance the time,” and “relax from work load.” Spelling errors—including “eldery,” “intrested,” and “activites”—also reduce accuracy. Some phrases, such as “longer holidays plans,” are difficult to interpret naturally. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling; for example, distinguish a longer weekend from a holiday and use natural combinations such as “spend time with family” or “recover from work-related stress.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “when,” and “which,” as in “when workers are provided longer holidays, they get longer period of time.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message remains clear. However, some errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms occur: “longer holidays helps” should use a plural verb, “One of the major reason” needs a plural noun, and “which can helps” has an incorrect verb form. There are also sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, particularly in the second body paragraph, where spacing and commas make the example harder to read. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly formed structure.
