Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that working days should be reduced and the employers should have more free days. From my prespective I completely desagree, and I believe that work rates and days must be unchanged especially in the industrial countries.
To begin with industry, in growing countries industry represent the largest share of economy, and the income axis. In other words, high working frequency provides economical benefits, such us in factories, trade, import and export. For instance, Japan a country with no natural ressources, and with overpopulationwhich requires more production in term of supply and demand, in this case concern authorities must put some exigent rules for more work rates and beneficial productions in different fields. In consequence, the country got positive response from work forces, and advantageous benefits from everyone, owing to more rest offers hard challenges for the all people.
In second argument, large weekend causes auto issues among the individuals. To illustrate that, the main society problem is salary which is playing a paramount role nowadays. Where the general public opinion is not satisfied with the amount of income received. Therefore, bigger range of rest faced by low number of work and production, consequently low economical income and lowest financial widgets compared to acctual. Finally, this proposition provoke increase financial and moral issued among the community.
In conclusion, more and more people think that working weeks and rest period are not deserved and they should reduce range of work and rise the free days. While, others adopting other point of view that the rates of job and rest must be unchanged and are impecable and i stand with this point of view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you disagree with shortening the working week. You also give two relevant lines of reasoning, linking work to industrial output and arguing that longer weekends could affect income. However, the response only partially develops the task. The Japan example is difficult to follow and does not clearly show why the current working week should remain unchanged; the claim that more rest creates “hard challenges” is also unexplained. The salary argument raises a relevant concern but does not explain how a longer weekend would necessarily reduce workers’ income. Develop each point with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a specific, relevant example to make your case more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “In second argument” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several claims are joined without clear relationships. For example, the Japan example moves from natural resources and population to authorities’ rules and then to “more rest” without making the reasoning explicit. The second body paragraph similarly shifts from weekends to salary and financial effects. Some linking phrases, including “In other words” and “Therefore,” do not clearly connect the ideas that follow. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, using references that make the connections clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “industrial countries,” “production,” “income” and “financial,” and some choices show an effort to express complex ideas. However, the range is limited by frequent inaccurate word choice, spelling errors and unnatural collocations that sometimes make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “income axis,” “economical benefits,” “financial widgets” and “moral issued”; these do not communicate your intended points clearly. There are also spelling problems such as “prespective,” “desagree” and “ressources.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations for employment and the economy, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer precise, familiar expressions over ambitious wording when you are unsure of a phrase.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which,” “where” and “while.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles and punctuation can make the argument hard to follow. For example, “industry represent” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Japan a country with no natural resources” is an incomplete sentence and needs clearer punctuation or a linking structure. “In second argument” also lacks the article and a natural grammatical form. Several long sentences combine multiple ideas without clear boundaries. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during revision.
