Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary world, the working days should be reduced and employers needs a longer weekend has become a significant topic of discussion. While some people argue that extended weekend brings a numerous benefits for work life balance, while others believe that shorter working days has a negative impact on the economical growth of country. In my opinion, extended weekend will help worker for better work life balance and motivate for doing extra work.

On the one hand, reduced working days have significant advantages. The primary advantage is that work life balance in workers life. This is because, due to long working hours employess are unable to spent time with family. Similarly, have less to time do other things rather work such as improving skills, exploring new things or working on hobbies. For example, in corporate employees have so many work pressure and time limit to complete the task due to this employess don't have time to learn new skills or working on hobbies. Work pressure causes to increase the stress level, which leads to decrease the movitation for work.

In such a situation longer weekend helps to individual to reduce the stress by exploring new things, spending time with your self, doing your favorite activities.

On the other hand, certain drawbacks of short week days should not be ingnored. The main disadvantage is negative effect on the economy. In other words, the development of economy is depends on the active workers. For instance, the product manufacturing rate is depends on workers rate of work. The low rate of work the it reduces the rate of product manufacturing and vice-versa.

In conclusion, although long weekend have some obvious disadvantages related to the efficiency of work, the positive aspects are much more significant. I believe that short working hours will countinue to be beneficial for society in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the issue and state a clear preference for a longer weekend, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The points about family time, personal development and stress are relevant, and you also acknowledge a possible economic cost. However, some ideas are more fully addressed than others: the benefits are explained with examples, while the economic argument mainly asserts that production depends on workers’ activity. Develop this point by explaining how fewer working days might affect output, and whether productivity could offset the reduced hours. Also clarify the distinction between a shorter working week and shorter working days, since the response shifts between these ideas. This would make your position and supporting reasoning more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body sections and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between sentences are unclear. For example, “In such a situation” does not clearly specify which preceding point it refers to, while “Similarly, have less to time…” lacks a clear subject and connection. The opening also repeats “while” in the same sentence. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; ensure pronouns and linking phrases have unmistakable references. This would improve progression within paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work life balance,” “stress level,” “economy” and “product manufacturing,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “significant topic of discussion.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “employers needs a longer weekend” does not express the intended idea, and “motivation for work” and “rate of work” sound unnatural in context. There are also spelling errors, including “employess,” “ingnored,” “movitation” and “countinue.” Build a more precise range around productivity, working hours and employee wellbeing, and check spelling and common word partnerships carefully. These changes would make your meaning more natural and exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Work pressure causes to increase the stress level, which leads to decrease…” and a contrastive opening with “While.” However, some sentence patterns are faulty, and errors in agreement, articles and verb forms recur. For example, “employers needs” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, “the development of economy is depends” combines incompatible verb forms, and “longer weekend helps to individual” has problems with article use and sentence structure. The sentence beginning “Similarly, have less…” is also incomplete. Practise building accurate clauses before adding complexity, and check agreement and verb patterns in each sentence. Greater control would make your varied attempts easier to follow.
