Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most of the working people argue that the length of weekend should be elongated in order to get both mentally and physically relaxed while the business owners oppose this argument of interest. In my opinion, I believe that the current split of the week is good enough for both employees and the owners.
On the one hand, hard working employees want this elongated weekend in order to calm down theirselves from their busy life schedule by spending enough time with family and friends. They argue that two days are not enough to complete the quota of the whole week of frustration. In their opinion, several tasks like giving time to family and friends along with completing the household work, make them equally stressed and tired as in weekdays rather than relaxing their tired brain.
On the other hand, the business owners want their employees to follow the existing split of the week. It is due to the reason that the long weekends would disrupt the business operations and ultimately it would lead to loss of their profit margins. To overcome this conflict, the organizations introduce the concept of 24 annual leaves which are utilized by an employee whenever he wants. In addition to it, 10 casual holidays are also being added to the bucket of an employee that is being availed throughtout an year.
At the end, I must say that the split of 5 weekdays and 2 holidays is beneficial for both employee and employer. Casual and annual holidays culture will help in balancing the both party's points.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support keeping the current five-day working week, and you acknowledge both employees’ wish for more rest and employers’ concerns about disruption and profits. This addresses the question and gives relevant reasons. The discussion of annual and casual leave is a useful example of a compromise, but it is not fully explained: clarify how these leave arrangements address workers’ need for a longer weekend, and whether they are available in the context you are discussing. The employees’ claim that household tasks are as tiring as work is also introduced but not explored. To strengthen the response, develop these points with a specific example and explain more directly why the existing weekly split is preferable overall.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present opposing perspectives, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “At the end” help readers follow the progression. However, some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “To overcome this conflict” introduces annual leave, but the connection between leave and the argument for keeping the current working week needs to be made explicit. The conclusion’s reference to balancing “both party’s points” is also vague. Use more precise referencing and connect each example to the claim it supports to make the progression smoother and more cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “business operations,” “profit margins,” “annual leaves,” and “household work,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision. For instance, “the length of weekend should be elongated” is an awkward way to express the proposal, while “quota of the whole week of frustration” does not clearly convey the intended idea. “Calm down theirselves” and “throughout an year” also show problems with word form or spelling. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; precise, familiar expressions will communicate your argument more effectively than unusual wording used inaccurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “in order to,” “that,” and “which,” and the main ideas remain understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, pronouns, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the length of weekend” needs an article, “calm down theirselves” uses an incorrect reflexive pronoun, and “both party’s points” has a number and possessive-form problem. In “the long weekends would disrupt the business operations and ultimately it would lead,” the pronoun reference is unclear and the clauses need more controlled punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct singular or plural forms, and accurate articles. More reliable control of these patterns would make your complex sentences easier to read.
