Student answer (Band 6.0)

There should be few working days in a week and labour should have more holidays. I personally, agree with the statement as I believe longer weekends are beneficial for our society.

From my perspective, long weekends would have a significant impact on society. Working 5 days a week can darin your energy and short weekends might not help you fully recover, which directly impacts your overall work performance. For example, The labour working on a constrution site may get more tired compared to those working in offices. It is medically proven, when you are physically engaged in any activity, your muscles break down and you need proper rest in order to recover them, without proper recovery you can not funtion normally, which leads to negative performnace in work and negative attitude towards other people or tasks of daily life.

Other than that labour will have more time to spend with there families and to relax. Any person working 5 days a week struggles to spend time with his familly, with more holidays they would have more time to do activites like planning a trip, going for shopping, or simply spending time at home. Many people like to spend time alone, which helps them to start fresh. Overall, more holidays allow a person to stay healthy physically as well as mentally, which diretcly leads us to become a healthy and loving society.

To conclude, I firmly believe that, there should be longer weekends, which directly has a positive impact on mental and physical health of a person.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I personally agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: longer weekends may support recovery and improve work performance, and they allow more time for family, leisure, and mental wellbeing. The construction-site example helps illustrate the first point, and you explain a possible consequence of insufficient rest. This addresses the question and provides support for your view. To strengthen the response further, develop the reasoning with more precise or qualified claims: for instance, explain how a shorter working week could be organised without reducing essential services, or acknowledge a possible drawback and respond to it. Some claims, such as the broad statement about medical proof, would also benefit from a specific example or clearer explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from physical recovery to family and mental wellbeing is easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example,” “Other than that,” and “To conclude” signal the stages of your argument. This gives the essay a coherent foundation. However, some links feel mechanical, and the long sentence beginning “It is medically proven” contains several connected claims that would be clearer if divided and linked more precisely. The reference in “which directly leads us” is also vague. To improve cohesion, use a wider range of natural transitions and make pronouns and linking phrases point clearly to the idea they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “work performance,” “physically engaged,” “proper rest,” and “mentally.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “darin,” “constrution,” “funtion,” “performnace,” and “diretcly.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “few working days” would be clearer as “fewer working days,” while “more holidays” may suggest annual leave rather than a longer weekend. Repeated use of “more time” and “negative” also limits variety. Build a more accurate range around the topic, such as “recovery time,” “work-life balance,” and “reduced fatigue,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “without proper recovery you can not function normally” and a relative clause in “which helps them to start fresh.” These attempts allow you to explain cause and effect, but control is uneven. For example, “I personally, agree” has incorrect punctuation, and “It is medically proven, when…” joins clauses incorrectly. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “longer weekends… directly has a positive impact,” and the sentence beginning “Working 5 days a week” shifts into an unclear comparison. Aim to make complex sentences more controlled: separate complete ideas with full stops, use commas accurately, and check subject–verb agreement and articles. More consistently accurate sentences would make your reasoning easier to follow.
