Student answer (Band 5.5)
The week days for working should be of a short duration and wokers should have a long weekend.
This essays argues that the working week should be on the normal week days in addition the weekends should be the same days at the end of the week.Working continously on the week days can assist individuals to stay productive and keep them on track. Moreover, on weekends people have enough time to relax; However, i assume that Friday's should be a half day in order to prepare a relaxing weekend.
Working five days a week creates a sense of pattern and routine which can help people stay productive and punctual throughout their lives. Furthermore, workers can stay on track and realise the worth of working and earning. We are able to observe that people who stay punctual and in a proper routine are much more active and optimistic in their lives. For instance, according to Pakistan's labour and human department, individuals who work productively five days a week are prone to stay calm and have a punctual life.
Secondly, weekends tend to be enough for peopl to prepare themselves for a working week ahead. Some people contend that weekends are too short for them to relax; However, i largely agree that weekends are of a normal duration which assist individuals to enjoy thei time with family and have a nice weekend. For example, when a person works a whole week, the most exciting thing for him is enough weekend ahead in which they can relax, rewind and spend time with their families.
To conclude, weekdays should not be shorter than they are now. Weekends tend to be long enough for a person to stay relaxed and prepare for the upcoming week of work. In addition, working during the week can help indviduals stay on track and calm in their lives. Weekends should be of the same duration as they are now and same duration of the week days are ideal to spend a peaceful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is generally clear: you support keeping a five-day working week and the current weekend length, while proposing a half-day Friday. The response stays relevant and gives reasons about routine, productivity, and time with family. However, the task asks whether the working week should be shorter and the weekend longer, and your opening says the week should be shorter before the essay argues that weekdays should not be shortened. This contradiction makes your position less clear. The supporting ideas are also under-developed: the claim about routine is repeated, and the example attributed to Pakistan’s labour department is not explained or connected convincingly to the argument. State your position consistently and develop each reason with a clear explanation or specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly group related ideas, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” help show the intended sequence. However, progression is weakened by the conflicting position in the introduction and by repeated points about routine, productivity and staying on track. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly the shift from the claim that weekends are sufficient to the concession that some people find them too short. Punctuation and spacing around transitions also interrupt the flow. Organise each body paragraph around one distinct reason, explain how it supports your position, and use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “productive,” “punctual,” “routine,” and “relax.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “realise the worth” and “prepare themselves,” but some combinations sound unnatural or imprecise. Repetition of “week,” “weekend,” “stay on track,” and “calm” limits the range, while spelling errors such as “wokers,” “continously,” “peopl,” and “indviduals” are noticeable. Some word choices also obscure meaning, as in “the most exciting thing for him is enough weekend ahead.” Build a more precise range of work-and-rest vocabulary, check spelling carefully, and choose natural collocations—for example, describe workers as maintaining a routine or having sufficient time to recover.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “which” and “when,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, errors occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “This essays argues” has a subject–verb and number error, while “weekends … which assist individuals” has unclear agreement and sentence construction. There are also problems with articles, possessives and punctuation, as in “Friday’s should be a half day” and “relax; However.” Several sentences run together or have unclear pronoun references, such as “in which they can relax.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent singular or plural forms, and correct punctuation. Aim for accurate complex sentences rather than adding clauses that make the meaning harder to follow.
