Student answer (Band 5.0)
I strongly agree with the working week should be shorter. I have some reasons about short week.
Firstly, worker will spend their more time with their family and after that they would feel nore energetic for doing their work. From short week, employers take some rest and feel healthy and achieve their given tasks shortly. For instance, if a person came from done a heavy work and if he have less time to complete his sleep and if he take sleep almost eight hours and spend time with his family after this he feel energetic when he go to his work.
Secondly, the production is improve when employers are healthy, happy and feel energetic. For example, in many counties workers spend their more time with their family, relatives because the owner of industry knows very excellently what to do with their workers and how improve production of his industry. Business would improve by their employers , if workers have not agree, happy with thir works how production of industry would be improve.
Due to short week, workers will be happy and feel comfortable with their work and spend more effort in their work and than the production of industry would be increase in minimum time.
From my perspective, i strongly agree with the short week because as i explain that after short week the employers would spend their efforts in production and the image of industry will be successful in minimum time. It is helping for workers and the industry.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you strongly support a shorter working week. You give relevant reasons, especially more time with family, better rest, and the possibility of improved productivity, and you include examples to illustrate these points. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The long example about sleep is difficult to follow and does not clearly show how a shorter week leads to better work. The claim about workers in “many counties” is also general and lacks a specific, convincing illustration. Explain the link between longer weekends, wellbeing, and productivity more directly, and develop one or two examples with clearer details to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding statement. This helps the reader identify your main reasons. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are repeated, particularly that workers will feel energetic and production will improve. Some linking phrases are awkward or unclear, such as “From short week” and “Due to short week,” while the extended sleep example combines several points without showing their relationship clearly. The sentence beginning “Business would improve by their employers” also interrupts the argument. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its supporting example, and avoid repeating the same productivity claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “production,” “workers,” “industry,” and “energetic,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, especially “work,” “workers,” “production,” and “feel.” Several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “spend their more time,” “complete his sleep,” “production is improve,” and “the image of industry will be successful.” Spelling errors such as “nore,” “counties,” and “thir” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural phrases for discussing working hours, wellbeing, and productivity, and check spelling and word combinations carefully so your ideas are expressed more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including conditional forms such as “if a person came…” and clauses beginning with “because.” This shows an effort to vary sentence patterns. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, making some ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “I strongly agree with the working week should be shorter,” “worker will spend,” and “if he have less time.” There are also recurring problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “the production is improve” and “he feel energetic when he go.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly in the long example about sleep. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from shorter, clearly controlled clauses.
