Student answer (Band 5.5)
In present age, working hours in a week should be shorter and individuals should have a longer days off. In my opinion, people should take holidays according to their work load. On the other hand, taking some days off in a week can be more productive for workers. So, i agree with this statement.
Firstly, working continously can make a individual feel exhausted. Whereas, taking off on weekend can refresh their minds. In my country, the work life balance amoung private sector is completely destroyed. Because, they push their workers to do continous work and overtime work, which make them feel stressed. For instance, people usually take loans and EMI which makes them to do a job and from there they get into a trap. A trap which makes them to do work overtime and they cannot complaint about it becuase they have dues on their heads. Other reason why people should take off on the weekends is to give some private and quality time to the family. Because, these days people are forgetting the value of family and childrens. For example, playing with offsprings, go for shopping an movies. These things help an individual to score significant in their feilds.
Holiday on weekend can improve the relation between the employee and the manager. Because giving some days off in a week can enhance individual's performence.
In conclusion, there should be off on weekends. so, workers can refresh thier minds and comback with more energy rahter then pushing them to do overload. Hence, i completely agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons, including reduced exhaustion, time with family, and improved performance. The examples about overtime and financial commitments help connect the issue to workers’ circumstances. However, some points are not fully explained or are loosely linked to the claim. For instance, the statement that time off can “improve the relation between the employee and the manager” is asserted without explaining how, and the final family example does not clearly show how these activities help workers “score significant” in their fields. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation of its effect, and keep the focus on a shorter working week rather than holidays generally.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow the overall argument. You use signposts such as “Firstly,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” to show the direction of your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven: the discussion moves from exhaustion to loans and overtime, then to family time, without clearly connecting each step. Several sentences beginning with “Because” are fragments, and “Whereas” does not form a complete contrast with the preceding sentence. The short paragraph about employee-manager relations also feels underdeveloped. Group related reasons more clearly and use linking phrases to explain relationships between ideas, rather than relying mainly on basic signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work life balance,” “overtime,” “exhausted,” “productive” and “performence,” and your meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the reader pause. Examples include “longer days off,” “take holidays according to their work load,” “take off on the weekends” and “score significant in their fields.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “continously,” “amoung,” “becuase” and “thier.” Aim for more precise phrases such as “a shorter working week,” “take time off,” and “perform more effectively,” and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “because,” and the main argument remains understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences and subordinate clauses. For example, “Because, they push their workers…” and “Because, these days…” are incomplete sentences, while “which make them feel stressed” does not agree with its singular reference. There are also errors with articles and number, as in “a individual,” and sentence punctuation and capitalization, including lowercase “i” and “so” after full stops. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles and punctuation when editing.
