Student answer (Band 6.0)
The most highlighted issue nowadays is that employees should get a longer weekend. Although, working for a whole week has some benefits but I strongly agree that longer weekends can bring more beneficial outcomes.
On one hand, more working days in a week can make employees work longer and complete more tasks in more days. For example, working for 5-6 days in a week can help the businesses to grow with more projects and more growth. More days to work will give more time to complete the assignments and focusing better on work. While on the other hand, less working days have more benefits. For instance, working for 4 days a week can make employees more motivated to work better and complete their work within deadlines. This can result in more productive work as workers work more efficiently.
Other reasons in favour of longer weekends include, more family time and more relaxed person. Longer weekends give opportunities to workers to spend quality time with their families, which can ultimately uplift their moods and improve productivity. They feel more refreshed after long weekends and have more time to complete their tasks pending at home. They can get more time to spend with their families and children, so they can focus better on their work later. It also helps them to focus on their children education and family chores. After hectic routine of work, long weekends are usually helpful.
In conclusion, I would say that more working days in a week can bring more work and growth for institutions but longer weekends can improve the productivity and motivate workers to work efficiently.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have longer weekends, while acknowledging that more working days may help businesses complete more work. The response addresses both sides and gives relevant reasons, including motivation, productivity, family time and rest. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that a four-day week makes employees more productive would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how shorter hours improve focus. The discussion of family time also repeats the idea that workers can spend more time with their families without adding much new support. Develop fewer points in greater depth and connect each example directly to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, discussion of contrasting views, a paragraph supporting longer weekends and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking phrases such as “On one hand,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, and the contrast between the two sides is not always smoothly managed: “While on the other hand” combines two contrasting signals. The paragraph about family time also repeats related ideas, which weakens the development. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one main point, then use pronouns or concise references to avoid repeating “longer weekends” and “families.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “productive,” “motivated,” “deadlines,” “quality time” and “refreshed.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “more beneficial outcomes,” “more growth,” “more relaxed person” and “children education.” Repetition of “more time” and “work” also limits variety. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations and choose precise terms for your meaning; for example, describe business growth as “business expansion” and say workers feel “more relaxed.” This would make the argument sound more fluent and appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “Although,” “which” and “so,” and your meaning is generally clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as “They feel more refreshed after long weekends and have more time to complete their tasks pending at home.” There are, however, some grammatical errors and punctuation problems. “Although, working for a whole week has some benefits but…” incorrectly combines two contrast structures; use either “Although working…,” or “Working…, but…”. In “more relaxed person,” an article is needed, and “children education” needs a possessive form. Review sentence boundaries and punctuation around introductory phrases, while continuing to practise complex sentences with accurate clause structure.
