Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. I compeletely agree with this view because it is more beneficial and practical. This essay will discuss why I agree with this statement.
The main reason why I support this view is that it provide mental relaxation. The primary argument in favour of this view is that it provides individuals with great flexibility and opportunities, which in turn leads to better mental health and reduce stress. This is because people want more time to feel relax on weekends, do their home and personal work they not doing during the working days and also want to reduce stress of job. For example, in Pakistan, many private companies allow workers to take rest by taking 3 holidays on weekend.
Another compelling reason to agree with this statement is that it also provide workers to opportunity to spend more time with family. This approach is not benefits individuals but also has a positive impacts on society as a whole, such as improving family relationship and social life. This approach allow workers to spend quality of time with their family and childrens and also take part in social life. For example, in Pakistan on weekends family gathering are popular so people want to attend this event with relax mind. Moreover, many people are social so they take part in social compaigns.
In concusion, there are opposing view on working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend, I agree with this because it provide better mental health, spending quality of time with family and reduce stress. Thus the benefits far outweigh ant drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I completely agree,” and the conclusion maintains that view. You give two relevant reasons—mental relaxation and more time with family—and support them with examples connected to Pakistan. This addresses the question, but the reasons are not developed equally or in enough detail. For instance, the point about rest and reduced stress is repeated, while the example of companies offering three weekend holidays is not explained or linked clearly to why a shorter working week is beneficial. The family and social-life point is relevant, but could also use a more specific explanation of its effects. Develop each reason with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the overall progression from personal wellbeing to family and social benefits. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “Moreover,” and “Thus.” However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear. The first body paragraph repeats the claim about mental health and stress, and “This approach” is used repeatedly in the second paragraph without always making the reference precise. The conclusion introduces “opposing view” without explaining that contrast in the essay. Improve cohesion by avoiding repeated claims, using clearer references, and ensuring each linking phrase expresses the relationship between ideas accurately.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “mental health,” “reduce stress,” “quality time,” and “social life.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “private companies” and “social campaigns.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision. For example, “feel relax,” “spend quality of time,” and “family relationship” do not sound natural in these contexts; “children” is also misspelled as “childrens.” The phrase “social campaigns” is unclear as support for the point about weekend activities. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms, while replacing repeated general phrases with more precise vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “which in turn leads to better mental health.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent: “it provide,” “This approach allow,” and “family gathering are” need corrected verb forms. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence construction, as in “spend more time with family” and “there are opposing view on working week should be shorter.” Some sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate agreement and article use, and build longer sentences from clearly connected clauses.
