Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You clearly state your position: “I one hundred percent agree,” and your point that people need time for family and home responsibilities is relevant to the question. However, the response develops only this one reason, with little explanation of how a shorter working week would benefit workers or why a longer weekend is preferable. The example of caring for parents, children and a newborn is introduced but not explained or supported. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so it cannot provide the range of reasons and development expected. To strengthen the answer, explain at least two distinct benefits and support each with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic line of thought: you state agreement and then give family responsibilities as your reason. The phrase “for example” signals an attempt to illustrate the point, so the reader can follow the general direction. However, the ideas are compressed into one long sentence, and the list of household tasks at the end does not form a clear progression. There is no paragraphing or concluding statement, and links between the claims are limited. Organise the response into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for your reasons, and a conclusion. Use clear transitions to show how each example supports your view, rather than relying on a single extended sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “working week,” “parents,” “children,” “new born,” and “cooking.” These words make your main concern—time for family and domestic responsibilities—understandable. However, the range is narrow and several expressions are imprecise or informal, such as “has a life aside from working” and “self cleaning.” Spelling errors such as “scnd,” “alot,” “od,” and “cleanign” also make the writing less clear and controlled. Build a wider set of accurate terms for work-life balance and household duties, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would help you explain your ideas without repeating basic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using a reason clause (“the reason is…”) and a conditional question (“what if someone has a new born”), showing some effort beyond isolated simple statements. However, most of the response is one run-on sentence, and punctuation does not clearly separate the ideas. There are also errors in sentence structure and agreement, for example “parents and children and wife needs time,” where the plural subject requires a plural verb and the list needs clearer construction. Capitalisation is inconsistent in “i” and “monday,” and articles are missing in phrases such as “working week.” Use shorter, complete sentences and practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
