Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear opinion in the introduction and conclusion: you agree that the working week should be shorter and the weekend longer. Your points about having time for household responsibilities and protecting mental health are relevant. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these ideas are asserted rather than explained with specific support, and the personal example is cut off after “I finished only my…”. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum, which limits how fully you can develop your reasons and example. To strengthen the essay, explain how a longer weekend could improve workers’ wellbeing or performance, and complete a relevant example showing the effect of having only one day off.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, body, conclusion and example, and the reader can follow the general argument from work demands to the need for rest. However, the body contains several ideas in one long block, while the separate “EXAMPLE” section is unfinished and does not connect clearly to the preceding discussion. Linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “and” and “so,” and references such as “the person” and “they” make it unclear who is being discussed. Organise the essay into complete paragraphs, with one main reason in each, and use clear transitions to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mental health,” “relax,” and “weekend,” so the main message is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to read, such as “alot,” “bounes,” “shoping,” “acessories,” and “pesonly.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “finished a lot of home works” and “refresh his mindset.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “household chores,” “recover from work-related stress,” and “improve productivity” would help you express your ideas more clearly and appropriately for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express reasons and consequences using longer sentences, for example, “if workers week are short and have long weekend then the employed will get enough time…”. However, these attempts often contain errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation, which can make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “we strongly agreed” instead of a present-tense form, “a person have,” and “if the situation is continue.” Sentence boundaries are also unclear in the long body passage. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “if” and “which.” Check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before submitting.
