Student answer (Band 5.5)
The ongoing debate about the timespan of weekdays must be cut into short and workers must have long weekend cannot go unnoticed. In my opinion, providing standard wages and long weekend to relax and boost their work efficiency is going to create a significant change in our society.
Starting with a survey where a worker is spending almost 60% of his daily life by working. They do contract works which varies from day, week and month timespan. Physical labour are very pressurizing as well as it creates a big impact over mental health. For this workers are suffering from malnutrition and they nag most of the time. They are deprived of their minimal wages. Sometimes they face hideous challenges in their work field. The security system in Southeast asia for workers are not well established, so if any unfortunate event occurs they do not get proper compensation as well as support.
Subsequently supporting a shorter weekdays contrary to longer weekend is actually justifiable. Recently another report published by a legal consultant stated that women from Bangladesh went to work as a domestic help in Saudi faced immense amount of assault both physically and mentally. As a result 457 of them did suicide although it was not thoroughly investigated wether they died by their own or it was a murder. And 7000 women came back from Saudi impregnated by the owner of their workplace. For these reasons i believe they need extra relaxing hour rather than spending all time working. This creates low work efficiency as well as workers they loose their concentration focus. This is harmful for the society.
In the end, Japan is presenting 3 days of weekend and 4 days of workdays to reduce tiredness and insoire their people to work More efficiently, and it was a good step. Their government is taking all the necessary steps to make sure this initial may work properly. I firmly believe if the government is taking care of the workers of it's country the may flourish in every aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support shorter working weeks and longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons, including fatigue, workers’ wellbeing and the example of Japan’s four-day working week. The response addresses the question, but some points are more fully explained than others. For instance, the discussion of long hours and reduced efficiency is relevant, while the detailed account of abuse of domestic workers is not clearly connected to how a shorter week would prevent such harm. The claim about Japan is also brief and would be stronger with an explanation of its effects. To develop the argument further, explain the link between each example and your proposal, and consider a counterargument such as possible costs to employers or reduced output before responding to it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can generally follow your position. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track. The opening phrase “Starting with a survey” suggests evidence, but no survey is then identified, and the paragraph moves quickly from working hours to wages, safety and compensation. “Subsequently” signals a new point, yet the following example does not clearly build on the previous one. Some linking phrases, including “For these reasons” and “In the end,” help guide the reader, but connections between claims need to be more explicit. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “work efficiency,” “mental health,” “compensation” and “concentration,” which helps communicate the subject. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, and these sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. For example, “the timespan of weekdays must be cut into short” and “long weekend” do not express the proposal naturally; “pressurizing” and “nag” are also unsuitable in context. Spelling and word-form slips such as “wether,” “loose” and “insoire” further affect clarity. Aim for precise, familiar collocations before using more ambitious vocabulary, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, use “shorter working week” and “longer weekend.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, such as the sentence beginning “Recently another report published by a legal consultant stated that…”. However, control of sentence structure is uneven, and some sentences are fragments or have unclear grammatical relationships. “Starting with a survey where a worker is spending…” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, while “Physical labour are” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals and verb forms, as in “a longer weekend,” “women … went to work … faced,” and “the may flourish.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement and tense, especially in longer sentences.
