Student answer (Band 6.0)

In a contemporary era, work-life balance plays significant role in individuals life. The working hours should be reduce and weekend hours should be increased. This essay will articulate the reasons for my agreement on the given notion.

To commence with the first point of view, reduction in the working hours will provide several health benefits. To be more precise, the worker with low amount of work has more healthy life in compare to the one with more work per week. For instance, health care providers works comperative more hours per week than other employees which cause them several health realated isuues in very young age, while other working professionals may not face same amount of health isuues. consequently, working hours put great impact on the employees health.

Another compelling reason in support of this view is that, longer weekend rest duration will increase good working attitude and increase productivity. To elaborate further on this point, the more rest and recovery from stressful environment will results in more positive work environment. a clear example of this would be, western countries provide employee more weekend hours has more productivity ratio than in eastern countries. As result, the work of the company eventually rise then the longer working duty malpractice.

A good work-life balance is necessary for the advancement of the company. By reducing the work hours and expanding the weekend hours, the employees health will improve and the productivity and a good work environment will maintain. eventually, I do believe that it is an win-win situation for the employee and employers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“my agreement”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both parts of the proposal by arguing that shorter working hours can benefit health and longer weekends can improve attitude and productivity. The healthcare-worker example gives the first reason some support, and the company-focused conclusion reinforces your view. However, the ideas are not equally developed: the health comparison is broad, and the claim that western countries are more productive than eastern countries is asserted without evidence or explanation. To strengthen the response, explain how reduced hours could improve health and performance, and use a specific, credible example to support the productivity argument. This would make the relevant ideas more fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with” and “Another compelling reason” help signal the progression, while “For instance” introduces an example. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For example, “As result, the work of the company eventually rise then the longer working duty malpractice” does not clearly connect the proposed longer weekend to the outcome. The conclusion also repeats points already made rather than drawing them together. Use simpler, more precise transitions and ensure each example is explicitly linked to the paragraph’s main claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “work-life balance,” “health benefits,” “stressful environment,” and “productivity.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “weekend hours” where “time off at weekends” would be more natural, “health realated isuues,” and “longer working duty malpractice.” Some phrases, such as “good working attitude” and “productivity ratio,” are also imprecise in context. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; choosing a simpler accurate phrase is more effective than using an ambitious but unclear expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a comparison with “while” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “the more rest…”. This gives the response some structural variety, and the main position is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the worker… has more healthy life” has problems with the article and comparative form, while “health care providers works” and “will results” show agreement or verb-form errors. The sentence beginning “a clear example of this would be” also needs clearer grammatical construction, and punctuation after sentence openings is inconsistent. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and revise complex sentences to ensure their clauses connect correctly.
