Student answer (Band 6.0)

Working week should be shorter and workers should get a longer weekend, I definitely agree with this stance that employees working in corporate spaces those who get a fixed monthly salary with duty of around eight hours per day should get a longer weekend. Corporate job culture is quite hectic from daily commute to eight hours duties and coming back home tired not being able to give enough time to themselves and their families this is a daily routine for a corporate employee. In this situtation a weekend is the only option left for them to fulfill their other duties and family obligations or in some cases get rest or relax to recharge themselves. The nine to five jobs truly drain a person's energy and many of them have to go through hectic commute routes to reach their workplaces and get back which is also extremely tiring.

These type of employees who are working under fixed salary conditions in companies deserve a long weekend so that they can get sufficient time to spend at their homes with their families, to do so some self-care or visit their loved ones. But the same situation cannot be applied to workers who are working on daily wages or employees working in sectors such as healthcare, police department or rescue department because they have responsibility to look after civilians if any kind of emergency or mishap happens involving dangerous situations. As far as daily wagers are concerned, their pay is decided on number of days they actually work. If the days are reduced due to long weekends they wont receieve a sufficient amount to cover their basic expense. Mostly daily wagers are low class workers such as construction workers, cleaning staff, sales men and women or delivery riders. Already these people are from underprevieleged background and they are working hard enough to meet their needs so less workind days dont work in their favour.

Lastly I would conclude that long weekends for workers or employees depend on their nature of job on one hand they are beneficial on other hand they are not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that employees in corporate jobs should have longer weekends. You support this with relevant reasons, including fatigue from commuting and the need for time with family and for rest. You also add a useful qualification by distinguishing salaried workers from daily-wage workers and emergency-service staff. This addresses the task and gives it some nuance. However, the discussion is not fully developed: the benefits of a shorter working week are mostly asserted, and the final paragraph concludes that longer weekends depend on job type without resolving how far you agree with the statement overall. Develop one or two examples further and make the conclusion reaffirm your position more decisively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a generally coherent structure: it introduces your view, explains the case for longer weekends, considers groups for whom they may be unsuitable, and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In this situation,” “But,” and “Lastly” help signal the progression. The contrast between salaried employees and daily-wage workers is also a useful organising principle. At times, however, the first paragraph packs several points into one long sequence, making the relationships between commute, fatigue, family time, and rest less clear. The final sentence’s “on one hand … on other hand” contrast is also abrupt and does not clearly connect back to your stated agreement. Use clearer paragraph breaks and more precise transitions to make the argument’s progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “daily commute,” “family obligations,” “self-care,” “daily wages,” and “emergency or mishap.” These choices help communicate the distinction between different kinds of workers. However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “situtation,” “receieve,” “underprevieleged,” and “workind.” Some phrases are also awkward or imprecise: “fixed salary conditions,” “low class workers,” and “long weekends” where you mean a longer weekend created by a shorter working week. Aim for accurate spelling and more neutral, natural collocations. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and precise while preserving the relevant range already present.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “so that” and contrasts introduced by “because” and “if.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. For example, the opening joins two independent clauses with a comma, while “Corporate job culture is quite hectic from daily commute to eight hours duties and coming back home tired” lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “These type of employees” and “a weekend is the only option,” where the intended meaning is general. The final sentence also needs a clearer parallel structure. Practise separating long sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and clause boundaries; this will improve control without limiting your complex ideas.
